I just loaded my game and a villager asked me to move out. I currently have 10 villagers. I wanted him to stay so I asked him to stay. My question is this: if I quit the game without saving and reload, will a different villager ask me about it? If not, when is the next time I might get asked this question by another villager?

Thanks in advance.

(It's urgent because I need to know whether I should save my game or not.)

No, the same villager would ask you.
And usually another villager will ask about 2-3 days after if you have 10 villagers.

I already have 10 villagers, the 10th moved in this morning so I don't know why this villager has asked me about this since it's clearly too early. But then the next one will ask me in 2-3 days?

They could ask in 2-3 days. It's random.
I've gone 5 days without anyone asking.

Last night I stopped Skye from leaving and this morning Goldie asked. I've never had that happen.

They can move out if you have 9 too

And it can be anywhere between 1-7 days between movers, but in my experience it's usually 2-4.

I once had two people ask to leave on the same day but different leaving dates, I told them both to go and they both agreed but only the second one actually moved out. I'm not really sure that is meant to happen though, I've not heard of it before.

Weird. I hope one of the others asks soon and that it's not one of the 2-3 I want to keep. Thanks for the replies!

(Also, weirdly enough, he didn't ping me or anything. I just started a conversation with him when I spotted him by the river and he told me he thought he'd been there for too long and asked if he could move.)

Another question, if we've denied a request can they ever ask again (in a few months, for example)? I don't want him to move right now but I may want to let him go in the future.

Yeah, they can and will ask again in the future. :)
