I am so devastated. I own the town of Pastelia, lots of hard work went into it. But my 3ds was LITERALLY broken in half. (Please don't ask how) The problem is, you see, pastelia is on a digital copy of the game. Its all gone, or is it? I have a second 3ds and an extra physical copy, and I wanted to know if there is any way I could get pastelia back.

My theory is I could get the micro SD from my old (new) 3ds, convert it into a regular SD card, and put it in my regular 3ds. Then I could have the data for pastelia in my 3ds? Or is it not saved to the sd, but the system itself? In the case that it is saved into the sd card, can I somehow transfer the data for pastelia into my unused physical? I know this is HIGHLY unlikely, but I would do anything not to have to start over. All of my dreamies, money, perfect town status, EVERYTHING, is gone.

If anyone knows if this is possible, please help me. I know it probably isn't but I will not give up right away unless I know i cant save pastelia. Thank you guys so much!

Rest in peace pastelia <3

Im pretty sure all the data is on the SD Card! Idk how to transfer data from SD to SD tho :(

I would get help from someone who is very knowledgeable about the 3DS... However, I would agree with others who said that the game is stored on the SD card. I'm not sure how exactly to do this, you may have to upload it to a computer first. I'm definitely not an expert on these things, but I'm sure there are people who are geniuses with these sorts of issues!
I hope you get your town back!

If the data is on your old SD card, I would think that you'd be able to transfer in onto a PC and then transfer it back onto your new SD card. I would suggest making a copy of the data first though, then if anything goes wrong, you won't have lost it. Best luck and I really hope that you can reclaim your town!

Edit: I would check with my SD card (to see if I could upload the data onto a PC) but my SD card reader doesn't work.

I know you told us to not ask how, but I just got to know how you managed to get your 3DS broken in half. Did it break in half top and bottom, or did it get broken in half through the screen?

I'd say you'll need to make a system transfer to a new 3DS before you can use the data on the SDcard, since the game is bought and therefor linked to your account? Sucks if you can't do that, though :'(

Data from a new 3ds xl sadly cannot be transferred onto an old 3ds even if you try to get the data onto an old sd card. So sorry :(

Edit: If you buy a new 3ds xl you can link your nintendo network id there and put your sd card in and your data should be there.
I do feel your pain because something similar has happened to my 3ds and it was very stressful.

my 3ds almost did that. i got a new shell for it though, so it will be better soon </3

Also, I've tried to play my town by switching SD cards, but it doesn't work.

That happened to my sister too, on her old DS :( The hinges broke and she held the halves together until she got fed up of it and had a new 2DS for Christmas.

Ill have to get a new one for my bday.. but thats not an easy task considering theyre 200 bucks!

(Hooray my bday is the 15th x3)

I'm sorry about your town! by looking at the comments it might be possible you can get it back, but I don't know how it works really since I have a physical copy. Maybe you should consider getting a physical copy if you can't recover your data. That, and digital copys are a lot more prone to corruption, or so i've heard. But if you prefer digitals that's cool too, although it would cost a lot to get a physical copy and a new 3DS. Best of luck though fingers crossed! and happy birthday for the 15th. c:

Oh no :( is that the town with marshal in?? I hope not. You spent as long as I did trying to get him :( god I would have an absoloute meltdown if that happened to me. I always thought Nintendo consoles are like bricks and almost un breakable. Guess I got to be more careful with mine now :( I seriously hope you can transfer everything

Im gonna have to sell all my collectibles to get enough tbt to get everything back, including all my villagers, fruits, igb, golden tools, and flowers

I think you'd have to move all your date over to a new DS, honestly I would try to call and ask nintendo because I have no idea how system transfers work.

That's wrong if your dad broke your 3DS, especially if you bought it with your own money. I have had a (none blood) family member throw away, break and steal my stuff...it's not a good thing to do.

If you buy a new 3DS, keep the receipt to it and keep it somewhere safe and hidden, even if you have to leave it at another family member's house sometimes.
