Urgent: has anyone had this happen before and am i safe to play?

I just booted up my cartridge and saw it said "save data corrupted: delete save data now?" with yes or no.

I didn't believe it so i powered down and took my cartridge out and put it back in and loaded up again and now my data is there again. Am I safe to play? Has this ever happened to anyone else before? I did update my game also.

Yes, if the message doesn't appear, it's safe to play. It's possible that before, the data couldn't be read fully. Glad your stuff didn't get deleted!

Wow, I didn't know you could do that. Luckily, none of my games haven't been corrupted.

ok thank you i safely loaded up again and am able to save and continue playing

I was playing just now and it said error occured power down and try again... is it my 3ds that might be the issue reading it? My file is still there though

Hmm...maybe try blowing on your cartridge? If that doesn't work I'm not quite sure what's going on there.

Your game may just be dirty so like the person above said try blowing on your cartridge and also blow into the slot that the game goes in because sometimes dust gets in there too!
