So I let some people into my town last night in to mine for good Turnip prices. Everything went well until I loaded up this morning and now I have Hippeux right in the middle of a path. He took out some trees and hibiscus bushes as well sadly. All things I'm ok with dealing with since trees and bushes are replaceable but the path is very narrow ( I didn't think anyone would put their house there since it's should have been too small.

What's the best way to cycle him out my town? I'm willing to TT obviously but I don't want to trigger villagers randomly being in boxes when I load up. Just...keep skipping ahead 2 days and hope they're the ones pinging to move?

I think there was a way. If I remember correctly, talk to him once and then stop talking to him altogether, he should ping to move out.

The issue is, I can't remember when you're supposed to talk to them.

I thought it was proved villagers you ignore are less likely to move out because they want to 'get to know you more'.

I did the trick with Ankha once and she pinged me within two days, so it's definitely possible

If you ignore them from the get-go, they move because they're 'not needed,' but if you talk to them first then ignore them they are added to your friendship 'ladder,' and you have to stay on 'speaking terms' to have hope of them pinging to move.

I heard you talk with them when they are unpacking, so they'll ping if they move, then ignore forever after. That "uneeded" villager will attempt to move in somewhere about a week.

I wouldn't skip more than a day ahead because it gets a bit risky especially if you don't want to lose other villagers.

when I want a certain villager to move, I use this guide because it's really helpful for me. Basically it tells me when someone is planning to move (if you read it all you will understand) and then I'll talk until someone spills the beans (aka, "I hear so and so wants to move!!). If it's a dreamie, I go to them, they will ping and I say no. It takes a while (well not THAT long if you dedicate to it) and then I just continue until the unwanted villager is out.

If you use this method, I think you can TT back to your original time, but that would have to be on a day where you deny a wanted villager to move (i.e. say a dreamie pinged to move and you said no, if you TT back to your original date, no one should want to move). I'm not 100% sure on this so if someone else who knows this, they can confirm or refute it for you

This method doesn't work for me. I have 10 villagers but my Ds clock has never effected my AC clock, they're two separate times and have been since I started the game and tried TT with just the ds clock - did nothing. So am I stuck with this silly hippo in the middle of my path? >.>

o.o? I'm not sure where the ds clock suggestion came from, unless I missed something. i just tt 1 day in game, load up, and talk to my villagers. if any villager mentions the rumours (as mentioned in the guide), that indicates to me no one wants to move. so i tt another day, do the same thing (I talk to several villagers just to be safe). If suddenly you don't see any mention of the rumours, i get the idea that someone wants to move; usually before this happens a villager will tell me "I heard xyz wants to move." ... if not I keep talking until one spills the beans.

it's weird your ds clock doesn't affect in-game, it usually should. anyway, I TT in game and not the DS clock. good luck with whichever method you should decide to choose:)
