Do you guys have any unpopular opinions about certain personality types. It can be about how they look, outfits, etc. Of course opinions vary depending on certain websites and people you talk to.
It seems like normal villagers are loved a lot but my personal favorite is sisterly(uchi) villagers, they have really fun dialogue with higher friendship levels.

Uchi villagers are the sweetest! Love how blunt they are and most of them give off punk lesbian vibes, the best kind of vibes.

I don't dislike any villager personality tbh, especially since they toned down the meanness so much. I've found cranky, snooty, and uchi to be the most endearing, mostly because they're nice but not overly saccharine.

My favorites are snooty and jock villagers. Snooty villagers are just really sweet and jocks are kinda funny.

My least favorite personality would be normal.

I’m sure this is probably not actually unpopular, but I am not a fan of the cranky personality. I find them more boring than the others. I don’t know what it is, I really love kabuki’s design and was so thrilled to find him on a mystery island, but realized I talked to him less and less compared to the others who I talk to a lot. The only thing I can think of is I don’t consider ‘old person’ to be a personality. I don’t hate the type and may have one in my island again in the future, but so far since I let kabuki move I don’t miss having that type around. I don’t get bored by my currently 3 peppy villagers or my two normals or the sometimes repetitive dialog people complain about generally but I guess they just didn’t click for me (granted, kabuki is the only one is have ever had on my island)

like I said, this may not actually be unpopular, but I feel like the cranky personality is very popular on here at least, which is my main point of reference.

Honestly I’m starting to dislike the normal. They used to be my favourite personality but I find they can be very repetitive. I love sisterly, peppy and smug. But find lazy can also get repetitive always talking about their bug friends. Honestly I feel like a lot of the dialogue in this game is very repetitive.

Smugs and uchis are great and I don't know why so many people seem to dislike them. I currently don't have any uchis around, and I miss 'em.

Four snooties (I didn't mean for this to happen, but between the campsite giving me Ankha & Freya and already having Diana and Soleil around...) is too many. I thought the campsite was supposed to give you personalities you don't already have.

a 60% chance to get a personality you don’t have, meaning it isn’t actually so uncommon to get one you do already have! That’s a lot of snooties though!
Ps- Soleil is adorable btw.

I really dislike the peppy villager type. They're a bit too high-tension for me and I get really tired of hearing how they're going to be pop stars but are stuck on my island. Feels like I'm at fault there...

Oh, for real? I feel better about having so many, then! Yeah, I wound up getting Soleil as one of my first villagers, then I got Diana from someone here; then Freya showed up in camp and I invited her due to being an NL bestie; and then Ankha was there and she's too unique, I've never had her around before, so how could I resist?

Now I am deep in the Regrets. I think dialogue in this game is pretty okay, actually, much better than NL, but--four of a kind is too many woop

(She is, I'm a monster who keeps gifting her hamster cages because it is very surreal)

I've seen a lot of people who dislike the jock personality type but I find them endearing. It probably helps that I was quite into fitness a few years ago so I'm not phased by all the exercise talk.

Cranky villagers are kind of unbearable for me. They're like High School jocks rather than the jock type in game. My only minor grip is that lazy villagers all seem very same-y while my peppy villager like Ruby and Apple have quite a few distinct differences.

My least favorite are probably Jock or Peppy. they're starting to get annoying, probably because of the repetitive dialogue.

People say they want rude villagers back but can’t handle it when an uchi has a little bit of sass...

But in all seriously uchi gets far too much hate. There’s plenty of cute ones and they are one of my favourite personality types

My favorites are Cranky and Uchi (Sisterly, but I still know them as uchi!) villagers. People say sisterlies are too blunt or come off as rude but I couldn't disagree more. Take Shari on my island for example: she's supportive of everyone on the island but is not afraid to tell them to tone it down a little bit. She only got in one argument with any villager before and that was Mallary, who was essentially calling everyone on the island's clothing choices heinous.

While I can't help but miss the mean villagers a little bit just due to nostalgia, I don't want my villagers insulting me. Dialog may be a little stale and repetitive but that, to me, is because of less dialog to choose from to begin with as opposed to them being mean. I absolutely LOVE that cranky villagers have become old curmudgeons. It's just goofy, they seem like grandpas.

  • Jocks are overhated. The dont talk any more about sports than peppies about being famous or crankies about being old. In fact, they can be pretty chill. Best bros.
  • People exaggerate how much lazies talk about bugs. It comes up once in a while, but is not nearly as prominent as people make it out to be.
  • People say they want rude villagers back but can’t handle it when an uchi has a little bit of sass..
This. Also, it has to be said that rudeness can get repetitive as well.
  • The personalities feel more realistic and nuanced in NH. In past games (esp. GC), they were way too volatile. They acted more like a caricature of their personality than an actual person.

I don’t like normal villagers. Both personality and design wise, they’re not really my thing. I’ve always strived to have every personality type on my island but I’m having a hard time deciding which normal I like best. Currently I have Marina but I don’t really like her, although I don’t have a clue who I’d replace her with because I just don’t like normal villagers.

Uchis deserve better! Snooty and uchi have by far my favorite dialogue, I love how uchis are kind of female crankies and how down-to-earth and mature they are.
