Unique island themes

Anyone else here who has unique island themes in mind and struggle to try them out or not? The past days, I came up with two island themes which are kinda unique as you don't seem them so often as others (like forest, pastel etc.). The first one is a Back to the Future theme (inspired by the 1000 threads that exist on this forum about TTing *cough*), the second one is a Mr. Bean theme (don't ask how I came up with that one, but it's an island where you would only find cub/bear villagers for sure). The thing is I would actually like to try out one of these themes, as I could imagine that it would be lots of fun. But then again, I don't wanna start over my current island or change it up again. In such moments, I really wish you could own two islands on one Switch. :')

So, what unique island themes do you have in mind for NH? Or does your island already has a certain theme based on anything (TV show/movie/book/etc.)? Thanks to terraforming and all those new features, I guess creating certain themes should be (much) easier than in the previous games. Would love to hear your ideas!

I'm trying to create an authentic ancient roman city (without posts having been added yet). What made me extremely happy today was that I discovered a fantastic way to design floor mosaics, so I'm probably going to spend the next few days copying art from Herculaneum and Oplontis for my public baths.

I am uncreative, so whatever I see on reddit/twitter that strikes my fancy, I try and incorporate it lol. For now my island just had a general suburban vibe - with some secrets hidden here and there.

I often look at the unique islands and wonder if I should try out one of my own, but tbh I could see myself getting bored with a strong theme after a while. like, I could see myself spending weeks making an egyptian style island, then one day just think, "yeah, i don't really want to be dressed as a Pharaoh anymore... ".

I admire the effort people put in, but know it's not for me lmao

The only thing unique is I plan to later hide a random series if items (obv gnomes being one) in just ... odd places.

Then I will host events where the person who finds them first gets a prize. =p

I started off wanting to do a more "tropical island" theme but as I didn't really found any furniture that fit or that I liked I turned more towards flowers/gardens/etc theme (like more "chaotic" with plants and stuff but still everything having its place and purpose). Still have a lot of work to do

I'm trying to have one side of my town be like a small town by the sea and the other side a big Japanese garden...but it's not coming out right and my Town Hall is in such a weird area.

As a fellow fan of our lovely Lady (to the point of once holding the title "Lord Gaga") I'd say plenty of glitz, plenty of glamour, so you want things like bright colors, speakers, abstract areas and lots of imagery. I'd hang around incase we see the poker set get revived as well.

I'm trying to make a combination ancient Greek and modern blue/white Greek......... Mediterranean type of island. Kind of struggling without any columns. Please give me columns, Nintendo.

Mine is not completely unique as it might seem like a plain forest theme but I have stuff I want to add to edit it. It is based off of Into the Woods, the musical. So it is like a dark fairytale theme if you get what I mean, and while it is a forest, I want to give it the creepy style but I don't have the items needed

In the beggining I wanted a tropical island! But there are legit no items or trees for tropical island setting. D: so i settled for a village.

I'm far from unique with my forest+creepy theme but if you can't pick one theme you could do both! I ended up not being able to pick for mine so what I did was I used a river as a divider so I have two sections.

You could have a Mr.Bean corner with just bears moved in to that part of the island. I love both of your ideas!​

I want my island to look like it was designed by a creative person, but I can't manage to do that even in my wildest dreams.

Like, literally, I just want it to look good but I'm so bad when it comes to details and stuff. My design is orange/peachy/nature, I'm trying to make things work but I have no idea what I'm doing. I feel like redesigning will become a daily duty for me.
