So I restarted my town a few days ago and I love the map. The only problem that I'm having is that it seems to have quite a few rocks, and many of them are in one area.

I have my town square directly below my town hall, which I love. Unfortunately, there are two rocks between them. Luckily they are not right in the middle, but they are still bothersome to me.

Here is my map and where I'm standing in the picture

As you can see, they are off to the side. But I have a feeling they might limit future possibilities for the space. I was thinking a path and trees in between and maybe some park benches too.

I'm torn between restarting and keeping it. If it's bothering me already, I'm sure it'll bother me even more later, and I'm only a few days in. But on the other hand, I really like the layout, and I got two dreamies to move in so far. Lily and Henry, my two favorite frogs and they built their houses right next to each other and also by a pond, which is kind of perfect.

Here are some of the other rocks. They are all near town hall and the train station.

I think you could manage by putting PWP's between the two pairs of rocks you showed, you could definitely put a bench between and I think it'd look nice, like natural looking almost I'd say. I wouldn't restart, but if you absolutely hate it and can't take it, that's your choice. ^^

You have a really nice layout as well!

Ugh my main town has like 3 rocks right in front of the train station so it's really hard for me to work around them. Truly tragic. I turned one of them into a sort of magic rock thingy by sticking mushrooms around it but idk :( rocks are hard to work around

Ooh, I was thinking a bench wouldn't fit there! That would make it so much better. I was worried there wouldn't be much space to work in pwps there.

Yeah, the bench idea is a good one ^^
I have 2 rock in the exact same place as well :P

That's rough. Rocks just suck in general, but this really is a pain. Glad they're not right in the middle!
As others have mentioned, you can try to place a PWP there to make it look a little nicer. Or just bombard the area with trees!

I really like that map. I would have my house as close to the ramp and boat dock as possible. That way, it would look pretty much like most of my other villes.

I like your layout! Those rocks are numerous. Have you tried hitting them with a shovel? I know sometimes those gem rocks spawn in so perhaps one of them could be temporary. I know those are difficult to work with but think of how rewarding it'll be once you figure it out. I love seeing how people creatively work around these type of things.

Ugh yeah I hate this. I feel the same about my new map, but I'm glad it's an overgrown forest town. It somewhat helps cover it up.

Yeah, unfortunately those are all real rocks. But after reading some of the replies here I feel a little better. I'm looking forward to unlocking some pwps and seeing what I can do there.

I really do love this layout and I would have hated to let it go. Especially with my two frogs choosing to live next to the same pond, so cute

Oh boy, I feel your pain. I deleted my resident house and resident like 5 times the other day to try and get around an awful rock placement, and just ended up in the same spot again. Kill me.

I have never reset a town. I just work with what I got once I have picked the layout. You kind of have to weigh what is more important to you. If it really bothers you and for whatever reason you can't do a bench placement(keep in mind just because it looks like you could place something there doesn't mean you can) there are dead spots that unless you hack your town you can't place some PWP's because there has to be so many empty spaces around a bench and not all the benches have the same space. The ones that have needed the least amount was the zen and log benches. There was a thread awhile back that was very scientific in determining where you could plot reset for villagers and pwps(this is slightly different then the precision if plot resetting thread but it works the same way). It took in everything including the rock placements and why they end up being where they are. If I find it again I will post.
If you think it will cause you problems in the future then you might want to try anew. You can always get the same villagers and plot reset them to where you want them to be. But rocks, you can't.

I feel like if you put like a path, a bench, and some flowers all around them, it would look like a really nice natural looking setup. Good luck :-)

I've nothing to add on the landscaping front, I hate those rocks, especially if you get a lot (I kept one town with 9 rocks, total pain).
But I would not reset if you like the town, and it is a good layout & you have good villagers in good spots.

You will always get a rock by the train station, town hall & R-Tail, tho the exact position can change - this link is often given (although I don't think its complete, in the sense I have one town that does not fit the pattern)

- you have to get it show bigger to read (sorry I'm no techie to work that out, got my hubby to print it out larger, maybe someone has got a better link to the same info).

Yeah a bench or something will fit in between :) I've got similar in my town. If I were to restart I would pay more attention to the rock placements, I'm certainly doing so in my second town I'm working on. I have a rock right in the middle of my plaza that I've just put paths around and now I don't notice it as much. Try a bench there or maybe the stone tablet? Try to make the rocks a bit of a feature so they don't look odd?

I think they're really nice if you manage to work your way around it. Rocks are annoying, but like what everyone says, it will look natural along with some flowers and PWPs built around it. I think you should keep it, definitely. It couldve gone worse with them being placed at areas that are good for houses and stuff ;-;

Keep it for the froggies!! :D
