I was in my in-game house doing nothing but tapping the Happy Home Designer icon to make myself disappear and reappear when suddenly, the worst thing ever happened: the system unexpectedly reset my game. I am scared of Mr. Resetti. Help! What should I do now? Wait for Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch? Now I will have to play Mario Kart 3DS until next month!

My one question: Do you have the reset center? If not, I think that Resetti will only show up the first time your game isn't saved. Any other time, Isabelle will inform you. Thankfully, NL has the option of opting Resetti out for the players who don't like him or find him annoying. So, no reason to quit the amazing game of NL when you will only see him once on your file! I hope all goes well for you! If you need any more help, feel free to let me know!

Was the town whole town erased? Or did resetti only show up? If it just resetti, don’t worry, he won’t show a second time unless you built his little pwp.

He's alot more chill on NL, so no worries. He'll ask what went wrong, give you 3 options, complain that his center isn't open then go away.

Strange, are you sure it's not your 3ds system itself? If you had it for a long time, it's probably starting to show signs of faultiness.

To all: I think my character and all my town have been devoured by Galeem and got replicated into corrupted puppets or Spirits.
I will deal with the problem either next year or when Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch comes out. I get it. Resetti makes little kids cry and run to their parents. Here's another solution. When the text box for Resetti shows up, be sure to force quit your game quickly.

It's unfortunate that you are choosing to not play because of Resetti :( Have you played previous installments of the AC series? I've heard the villagers were absolutely meanhearted in the original gamecube game and WW. I don't know how CF was concerning that issue. You are waiting for Switch, to not deal with Resetti. Resetti was installed into the game to prevent players from saving without quitting, but of course other issues occur resulting in an unsaved game, like batteries dying. Resetti has become a crucial member of AC, so I'm sorry, but we'll most likely see Resetti in Switch version. If you really are too afraid to play NL for this reason, then I suggest AC spin-offs like Happy Home Designer or Pocket Camp.
