I seemed to have leaned towards many of the more unpopular picks. Though it isn't hard to do cause the hivemind of this fandom is pretty set on having S Tier (the only ones you should think of picking) villagers. So if you're a Jock but not Dom, you're in trouble. If you're a Lazy and not Sherb, you're in trouble. If you're a Smug and don't happen to be Marshal or Raymond, you don't even exist.
Colton - His prince charming vibe and bright blue eyes are adorable. He really has a strong theme going and fits the Smug personality in a cute way. His home is classy both outside and inside as well. Despite this, this poor horse wasn't even remotely mentioned in the thread discussing villagers with heavy themes while villagers like Punchy, Dom, and other pretty normal villagers were discussed.
Pierce - After a long hunt was winding down to a small pool of tickets, I took Pierce in. He wasn't my top Jock pick at the time, but he was one I considered. I am so happy I did. He has a beautiful coloring with nice contrasting eyes that are pretty expressive. He likes to patrol Molly's home which makes me think he is the big brother of the island looking out for everyone. He's incredible. Most villagers hunts I see that run across him usually compliment him and seem to like him, but then they usually mention Dom... and he's left behind.
Reneigh - I don't see much negativity pointed towards her, but she seems a bit under appreciated for having a very pleasing color scheme and being in the personality type that has a lot of duds. While other newcomers are paraded around as gods among men, Reneigh and Cyd seem to be left out. Meanwhile I got her after my longest hunt (literally spent all day and night hunting) and have no regrets. She's incredible.
Sly - I personally like the Alligator designs but had trouble figuring out if any of them stood out to me on their own. I was figuring if I ever took a second Jock in, it'd be the adorable Sheldon. But I kept eyes on this guy as well and he is my most recent move in. I think the camo looks great on him and find his design pretty fun. His piercing green eyes are all stellar. His home may not be the best, but he stands out to me, and it was fun designing the outside of his home thinking of a playful military bro as the owner.
Wolfgang - Wolfgang was my first hunt where I knew whoever I got would get their actual home, and it was a quick and easy hunt. I didn't go in with a plan and ended up with this super awesome wolf! When I planned things out more, I wanted Roscoe to go with Colton for the White and Black knight motif (another theme Colton was forgotten about, both have checkered flooring), but I can't see myself parting with Wolfgang. He seems overlooked for Fang which is disappointing since Fang is really one note in color scheme while Wolfgang is more dynamic. Chief, Lobo, and Woflgang seem to be swept under the rug pretty quickly for the white wolf to stand on top of. I don't mind Fang by any means and considered him as well, but it's sad how quickly the other three seem forgotten.
Henry - I have affiliated with frog characters and designs in the video games like having some pet ones in Terraria and other games where some form of pet frog is included. So I was pretty hyped when I got Henry as my Smug camper cause I obviously was expecting the worst. I'm currently conflicted if I'll keep him cause Jacques stands out to me for some reason as one I want to have. But I do love Henry. He's cute and hearing the Smug dialogue from a frog is hilarious and awesome. Weirdly enough he seems cast aside when people discuss frog villagers even when people say they prefer the simpler frogs as it always turns to Lily in those cases.
Tammi - I got her as my random DIY move in cause I stopped looking. I think she is one of the best of the monkeys with a fun design and great facial expressions. She is however viewed as the demon monkey by the community and shunned. I will likely boot her since her home is DIY, but she may come back as none of the Peppy designs are home runs to me.
Jacques - His design just has personality and makes me think of Jeff Fisher from American Dad. I dig it and his color scheme stands out to me with the dark blue and lime. His home lacks the "home" vibe I look for when villager hunting, but I've even considered giving Tia and Jacques rooms in my home if I end up with them. They'd also run a cafe/music establishment as partners in business. He may not make it on my island cause Henry is tough Smug/Music competition though, but I wish the little bird got some love instead of almost none.
8 Pictures inside from seven screenshots I took and one Wiki image for Jacques since I don't own him and may not.
