Unable to decide: Zen or Modern theme?

So, for a long while, I've been thinking about how to dress up Nentown. Zen stuff, or Modern stuff? I've been indecisive for a very long time. But then when he lived in my town, Tom piped up.

Now I've devoted myself to making my town Zen style. However, Tom quickly moved out, and no Crankies would move into my town. While I was Cranky-less, multiple pings began to come up, with the idea of modern-themed PWPs.

There are a good few other PWPs, too. My question is that now that I have Gruff in town, should I dive for PWPs from him, or jump ship, build the Modern PWPs, and go from there? Keep in mind that if I do convert to Modern, I'll be switching my house theme to modern, and this is my progress with Harmonious...

What should I do?

Since you are asking I will offer my vote: go modern!

There aren't enough modern towns. I'm working on a new modern town myself.
And then you could go after a new HHA theme!

We just got the update. Doesn't it seem like a good time for something new.

Zen is great too tho. Two great choices.

I don't really see modern towns as often which would actually be cool. However, I personally like more nature-y towns but that's just me. I would say go with whatever you feel will make you enjoy your town the best!

Hm I personally think zen is super overdone. I think modern can look really cool if done right but it'll be harder since you wont see many good ones around :> both are nice tho!

I would go for modern, because for experience I think it's easier (even if that wasn't the theme I chose to earn all my golden house parts). After you win all your points, you can go back to whatever theme you want Just my opinion, though, since I don't believe it looks hideous or ugly or anything at all, like many people have already said...
