Ok, so I'm browsing through the forums, and I happen to stop at cryindarkness's signature, and click her link to the Nintendonic forum.

A few seconds later, I get some pop up that says 'Antivirus 2009 has detected a malicious virus on your computer.'

I click cancel, and it goes to some random site and starts loading something, so I close the page, and another pop up comes up promting me to use the antivirus thing, so I hit OK.

Nothing happens.

I search Antivirus 2009 on yahoo, and it says that it is actually a malicious virus. It pops up telling you to download and install it.

Just a heads up.

Wait.... Why were you even looking at her signature? >.>

Yeah, I hate those things. I'm pretty sure half the members here know not to download anything from pop-ups =P

They certainly haven't given any evidence to that.

It wasnt really a pop up, they made it look like you had actually already installed it on your cpu and you needed to run a virus scan. It wasnt flashing colors and moving all over the screen or anything... ~___~

EDIT: Btw, I hit Cancel on it, bright one.

They're getting quite crafty with these things =P

Like this one time. This pop-up cam out of no where and started "scanning" my hard drive. Then I knew the results were COMPLETELY bogus because it was on the school leased tablet which has no viruses when handed to you. A program makes sure that any type of changes and files that aren't saved to a specific place are erased when restarted.

xD Well, there's some members that are bound to have SOME type of common sense.

If you don't recognize it, close it.
For example. my computer doesn't have anitivirus, so I close all them things.
Thing is, its not my computer entirely. My Dad uses it, and God knows what type of stuff he installs on this thing.

I just knew we had a virus blocker, but I hit cancel anyway, and the scan started by itself.

Sheesh people, just letting you know.

Innocent until proven guilty, I suppose.
Or somewhat below average until proven average.

We know the internet is full of evil, thanks.

You are very welcome.

I have the same virus, but i'm sure it's not Nintendonic, although I did get the virus like a day after I joined....hmm.... But that would mean TBT gives the same virus because both TBT and Nintendonic were made on the ZetaBoards website.

Before someone says it again, I HIT CANCEL. I used common sense =,=
I don't think hitting "cancel" solved your problem.

I've had experience with a malware program similar to antivirus 2009 before. Even when I hit "cancel", it still infected a lot of things.

Are you getting any wierd pop-up adds? Like, more then usual?

I can give you the link to an anti-malware program I got to get rid of my problem.
