It's not. I just got a villager from someone else, but then someone told me my dreamy is moving out. So what I'm asking is if I go get her from them, will the other villager's data disappear? I have not skipped days, so I technically still have 9 villagers.
Nope, once a villager says they're going to move in, the game "fills" that slot. You have the villager now, they just haven't placed their plot yet.
I mean, you can give it a shot anyways... Go over and talk to your dreamie and see what happens. I'm just pretty darn sure it won't give you the option to invite them to your town.
YES -- the 2nd invitation will override the first invitation. The 1st invited villager will just vanish, I don't think they even end up in anyone's outbox.
That's right! It does override, so go after your dreamy!
Same thing happens when villagers ask you to ping. If one asks you and you tell them to move, and the same day or a couple days later someone else asks to move and you tell them to move, it will override the first and only the second one will move.
Actually, I tried going to get my dreamy, but she didn't bring up trying to move my town, so she didn't override the other villager's data. I'm not trying to say you guys are wrong, but it didn't happen to me. Luckily, the trader was patient and waited while I TT'd someone else out, and I got her! <3
Oh, this is a case in which I'm pretty happy to have been incorrect. I'm glad you saw this thread in time, PinkWater, even though you ultimately couldn't get your dreamie. I'm sorry for misleading you!
No, no! I did get her! And it's not your fault. I've heard some people somehow do override a villager moving in, and they get a letter from them saying stuff like, "Sorry, I decided to go elsewhere," or something.
