Ugh LILY WHY

Lily pinged me to move a few months ago, and I told her to leave because her house is parked RIGHT in front of mine and I wanted to make room for another normal villager that I wanted, so I told her to go.

She decides to stay anyway.

A few days ago, Lily pings me AGAIN after months of not pinging me to move, and asks me to move. I get excited and I'm like yeah sure!! Go ahead go leave.

And what happens?

SHE DECIDED TO STAY.

I am so mad. Is there any way to avoid this? Do I just not talk to her after I tell her to hightail it out of my town?

Yeah, if she agrees she's moving and you want her to, don't talk to her.

Also, if she asks to move and takes it back, you can just quit and not save
And when you get back on, she'll probably ping, just ignore it and she'll move

If a villager pings you to move and they decide to stay, when you want them gone. Just exit out of you game right after without saving. When you go back in go to the villager again, they will ping you again. The villager should agree to go this time. If not repeat again. It has always worked for me.

Yeah... I figured I could just reset but I was stupid and saved a couple of my patterns. I forgot that the game saved after saving patterns, so she's stuck here for the next 10000 years, probably.

Argh. I'll know next time to just ignore her until her moving day.

The easiest way is to hear about the move from other villagers and not even have the ping-conversation with the moving villager. For example, if Freya tells you she's heard rumors about Lily leaving, just ignore Lily from that moment on and she'll move.

But yeah, if Lily pings you and you have that convo with her, it's a matter of quitting without saving if she doesn't agree to move. Sorry to hear it's already too late for that.

True, but her house is right on top of mine so it's pretty annoying. She's been with me since June and has asked me to move 3 times... I've just been stupid enough to continue talking to her after that and made her decide to stay even though I wanted her to leave.

Nuuu don't. Daisy is at the bottom of the barrel tier (apparently) and I'm sure she won't be hard to get whenever I actually have room. I don't Time Travel so it will be a while before another one of my villagers more away~

Tutu just brought me happiness again.

Apparently she's still moving away even though she said she wouldn't?! I'm not going to talk to her because I can't risk her deciding to stay again.

I'm a bit happier now even though I think it's odd that she said she'd stay but there are still rumors around that she's moving... Unless that's normal? Can she still be staying even though the villagers are saying she's moving?
