Has anyone noticed how other villagers misgender Uchi villagers that are clearly female? I?ve seen a few villagers call Uchi villagers a him. Does anyone know exactly why they do this or is it some glitch?

It's a localization/translation error that seems to be specific to the North American version of the game.I found this thread over on Gamefaqs:

It was just a question, and I didn?t see any threads with this specific issue. I don?t understand why you say ?keep bringing that up? when I literally only asked the question once.
This game is 5 years old.
Everything that can be talked about has been talked about and now we’re just on repeat!

It's because the Japanese don't always specify pronouns, when it should be understood already within the context of the conversation.
When people translate a video game, typically all of the text is dumped into a file. You aren't seeing it in the context of the game. You might not even get to see the full conversation in the order it's supposed to be in. Sometimes the translator doesn't get to see that pronoun context and makes a guess. Sometimes they are wrong.
