Yeah, I hope I didn't come off as hostile to that person because I definitely didn't mean to and I didn't even mean to start a discussion like this to begin with! I just get met with/see other people get that sort of response when trying to share nb headcanons a lot and honestly it gets frustrating because hey, everyone else is having fun imagining their favorite characters are gay, why can't I have fun seeing my gender identity in my faves? I don't necessarily think of
all the uchis as somewhere in the spectrum of being nonbinary (which is very wide and complex range as being nonbinary doesn't necessarily mean the same thing for everyone), I just haven't thought of specific headcanons for all of them! Some of them might be feminine women with a punk, tomboyish attitude, some of them might consider themselves masculine/androgynous-presenting but still just be women, some of them may be genderfluid or agender, but ultimately we can all imagine whatever we like.

I also think of various villagers of other personalities including incredibly feminine peppies and hypermasculine jocks or some NPCs as such just because that's how I feel and it's fun for me.
And yes, I do understand what you're saying and it's something I struggled with a lot when figuring out my own identity tbh. I don't wanna go into too much detail right here on this thread but I basically had to realize that if my gender changes from time to time and yet I want to wear something that doesn't necessarily "match" what I would say my gender is, then I should. Most people I meet irl aren't going to understand me and will assume things of me anyway (and, as I've often experienced, will assume wrongly no matter how I look or act), so I should present in whatever way I feel happy doing instead of the way I'd be expected to. It doesn't stop me from being who I am. But I can see how I might have implied that the idea of being nonbinary is directly tied to appearance/attitude and I certainly didn't mean to do that.
