I only type fast if I use MY keyboard. Anything else, I'm dreadful at speed.

It's because after a while, your brain and fingers become asphyxiated to that particular keyboard. I'm the same way. Even keyboards that are the same model as mine aren't the same.

I can type super duper fast, but I'm bad at spelling words like "definatly" (spelled wrong) and "museam" (spelled wrong).

I get a's mixed up with u's and such. But other than that I'm a fairly good typist.

And I type very oddly, I use my thumbs for the upper keys and middle keys, and i use my index and middle fingers for when two letters in a word are close together. I don't rest my hands or fingers on the keyboard, they hover directly above.

I've also memorized the keyboard. xD

EDIT: I meant the middle row of keys and the LOWER row of keys. Sorry.

Anyway, when I know exactly what I wanna say, I can go between 60-70 WPM depending on how many typos I make, which varies on the complexity of the word or how with-it I am. When I'm just kind of thinking as I type, it's around 55-60ish.

I think that's the higher end of average.

Man, my one friend who is on the computer all the time still does the hunt-and-peck method. I love her dearly but can't believe she hasn't learned where the keys are by now. :\

I don't think how well you type is based on how fast you type.
It's how often you make mistakes.

If you're fast but you make a lot of mistakes, you do not type well.

my max gwam was either 110 or 105... I can't remember, but I know I've gotten faster than 100, so I rounded down.

that was typing what I'm reading, though, so thinking about it I guess that shouldn't count towards normal think-typing. like I said, last time I took a test for the GWAM... lol

on the internet, all I care about in my typing is spelling everything correctly and making it readable. perfection is bleh. better things to do, right?

The exaggeration was just a joke, goodness. I'm an adult; the joke wasn't appropriate here and I didn't really think before posting it, yes, but I don't see how such a comment makes me a nymphomaniac. It's just a lowbrow sitcom sort of joke, I guess.
And I don't consider mentioning my butt in a non-sexual way to be a sexual comment, more of a weight comment. I never even thought of it being taken in such a way.

I'll make sure to keep my comments nice and innocent from now on.
