In your file, do you prefer to have all different kinds of animals, and all different types of personalities, or do you prefer to have ones of the same?

In parfait i am going for a town with 10 different kinds of animals, and all the different types which i have so far, and i dont have any duplicate species yet..
I have 1 Elephant, 1 Sheep, 1 Cat, 1 Mouse, 1 Cub, 1 Octopus, 1 Squirrel, 1 Rabbit, 1 Pig.
I think i much prefer it like this.. keeps the game more fresh imo

Whilst in Azalea i messed this up :p since i have 3 sheep, 2 cubs, 2 cats..

If I like an animal species I don't mind having multiples of those, but it don't like having too many of the same personality because the dialog gets repetitive. In the end I think I would like to have one of every personality type and then two crankies and lazies because they are my favorites. That way I will get the maximum mix of conversation options.

I'm finding the categorized personality types is more important to me.

There are eight: Cranky, Snooty, Jock, Peppy, Smug, Uchi, Lazy, and Normal.

I have all covered with exception of the first. And when I gave up Walt, I didn't realize the purpose of having the personality types were with respect that certain kinds can come up with suggested Public Works Projects not made by others.

i mentioned this before; but, six months after having first played the game, I actually still don't have available to me the Windmill on suggested Public Works Projects. That is a key example telling me that it is critical to have as much coverage as possible with the Personality Types who make up my town's villagers.

I now have in my town the following villagers:

? Clyde (Lazy)
? Jambette (Normal)
? Tammy (Uchi)
? Scoot (Jock)
? Broffina (Snooty)
? Simon (Lazy)
? Drago (Lazy)
? Julian (Smug)
? Kidd (Smug)

I need to cut at least one of the Lazies. And it won't be Drago.

Fang would probably be a good Cranky for me to get. He is very popular here.

I have:
Normal- Lolly- Moving in soon ^w^, Goldie (On the lookout)
Peppy- Rosie, Cookie
Snooty- Ankha (being held)
Lazy- Lucky (On the lookout), Walker
Jock- Kid Cat
Unsure: Punchy, Bones
