Hi there. I came up with the idea a few days ago to write a fan fiction about gamers and groups of gamers. The idea of the is based of divergent but I won't be able to even steal that much of the story line as I don't own the book or DVD yet.
Anyway I need your help on naming different types of gamers and these gamers need to be recognized by some sort of tattoo on them.
For example I have come up with:

Fearless for people who play shooting games and they would have black fire flames up there arms.
Peaceful for peep who play games that creates their own world like Animal crossing, the Sims, Minecraft etc. who have leaves in the palm of their hands but I think that's rubbish.

It would be great if you could help me. I also need help with some other characters for different gamers because I only watch people who play Minecraft lol. Please do not ask if you can co write this with me as I've done that in the past and not waiting days to start writing my next chapter, you being in the story as a gamer is the most I can offer.

Many thanks,
Katie

So far I have:
Fearless for shooting and army games like GOD and CS:GO
Peaceful for creative games like Animal Crossing, The Sims and Minecraft
Puzzler for puzzle games like bejeweled and rubix cube lover.
Rhythm for rhythm gamers like OSU and Rhythm heaven

Of course you've gotta have the calculated puzzle-gamer type. Relates well with the quiet sandbox gamer, but can often come off as arrogant and a little conceited. Despite this, they're still a nice person who's willing to help their friends.

I was also thinking about maybe a rhythm-type gamer for stuff like DDR, PIU, osu! and such. Has a lot of energy and very honed reflexes.

(Nevermind the fact that I fit somewhat into both of these categories. >_>)

Also, not to sound intrusive, but I was wondering if you could explain exactly what kind of direction you wanted to take this fanfiction. It sounds pretty interesting, but Ive never read/watched anything about Divergent, lol.

Have 0 idea what Divergent is about, but..

There's always gotta' be the retro gamer, right? Right. You should know what games they play. If you don't? Shouldn't be too hard to find a game like that. I don't really know what personality it would connect with, though, lol.

I guess that couldn't really be its own category: retro. I'll just put this out there in case, lol.

I think the retro gamer is definitely its own category. Good idea.

Maybe he'd be considered the more nerdy type, whose normal enough to fit in with society, but not normal enough to comfortably jump in with cliques and stuff, idk.

I'm not sure what you mean by retro.

Thanks for the help. At the moment what ive just came up with is that gaming is banned and go the prision. I'm not really sure but it won't be coming out till January anyway.

Wat...
Hardcore gamer- Who takes the game too seriously
Casual- your into casual games no COD and shiz

I just wanted to share my opinion on one of the types of gamers; I feel like peaceful doesn't really fit with that type of gamer because some gamers are hostile in those games haha

I'm tired and running on fumes so I can't really think of a name suggestion for that category :( but good luck :) this sounds interesting!

The people who just play games to have fun with friends!

I don't know what 'divergent' is, I'll have to look into it. If this 'fan-fiction' is anything like I'm imagining though, it sounds pretty cool :P

Peaceful for creative games like Animal Crossing, The Sims and Minecraft

I think (personally) I would leave 'peaceful' for games like Animal Crossing or Tamodachi Life and have 'creative/creators' for things like Minecraft, Little Big Planet and Disney Infinity. (I won't say much more, since I don't know how exactly your 'fan fiction' is going to work).
I would change 'Fearless' to something like 'Deadeye' for FPS fans, simply because 'Fearless' sounds like something attached to horror games.

As for other types of gamer, I dunno...

Runners - Gamers that tend to go towards platforming games like Super Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Jak and Daxter.
Retro - Gamers who tend to play older 8-16 bit games, or games designed to feel like games of that era.
Fearless - Gamers who tend to play games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil and all those crappy 'walking' simulators on PC.
Wanderers - Western styled RPG's like the Elder Scrolls or Dragon Age.
The Wandarā - Eastern styled JRPG's like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona or Chrono Trigger.
Cogs - Those who like things centered around machinery and vehicles? Guns of Icarus, Gran Turismo, Titanfall.

It's hard to fully throw ideas at you when I'm only 50% sure I know what your idea is.

Here are a few ideas I had:

Liberates- Players of sandbox games like GTA or Minecraft.
Pugnacions- Players of the fighter genre.
Adventurers- Players of RPGs centred around free-roaming.
Troopers- Players of RPGs centred around grinding.
Aviates- Players of platformers.
