Two villagers can be in boxes at once?

Just experienced this bizarre thing - I had a camper and a villager in boxes on the same day.
It was a camper I really wanted to keep, so I tried the minigames, and they decided to move in - and kicked another villager instead.
Now I have two in boxes villagers. Has anyone experienced this before?
What happens the next day, will I have two empty plots, or they move one after another?

You'll probably wind up with two empty plots, but only one new villager will move in at a time.

But I think you'll still be able to fill both on the same day.

You can only get 1 off the mystery islands each day, but you can adopt a villager in boxes from another person's island to fill the 2nd plot that same day (I believe) so it doesn't get filled by a random or voided villager

Ok so, both villager in boxes got adopted by visitors on the same day as well. So both had the "I've moved out" sign.
Villager A got in boxes. Villager B gets in boxes the same day, because of Villager C, a camper who will move in.
The next day, villager B is the first to move out. They're gone, and the C camper is on their place, with the 'sold' spot.
The day after, C camper is unboxing in their house, and villager A is still in boxes. Tried to TT a day, then two and so on. I think he's glitched. He will always have the "I've move out" warning box when I try to check their house. Tried to TT 20 years. He's still there. FFS...

As a note, I haven't used amiibos. Does being 'forced out' by a camper which is not Amiibo causes the moving glitch as well?

Edit: After a while I managed to fix it somehow with only time travel. Time traveled a ton forward, behind, years at a time or day by day. Then complained to Isabelle (not sure if this had anything to do with it), then time traveled a couple days, and it was gone.

So I guess in the end non-amiibo campers making other villager go into boxes while someone else is in boxes causes village glitch as well.
You wont end up with two empty plots the day after but a glitched villager. What a bummer...

What would happen if a villager asks to move the same day I have a camper, who decides to replace a third/different villager (villager C)? will I have the same issue?

You shouldn't be able to put two villagers in boxes the same time. If using an amiibo, one of the villagers will just not move out until the next day.

Campers/amiibos immediately put someone in boxes. If someone asks to move out they will not be in boxes until the next day.
