I am debating whether to get a digital copy of the game, i already have the cartridge and a town on there that i don't want to give up or reset. As I've done too much on there to go through that again.

But thats the only problem with getting a new copy is the starting again, i guess i could borrow stuff from my other town (and still play on that) but then again it would be nice to have a digital copy in case i loose my cartridge lol

But those of you that do have two towns, is it worth it?

I can't possibly play them all everyday, so I play one for a week or so, then switch to another.

I love decorating towns and houses, and I just couldn't reset any games that I already had. It kind of became an obsession. I'm being very strict with myself and I'm not going to allow myself to get another copy.lol.

Thats what I'm like, i don't want to reset my current town, but i want to see what other maps there are and villagers, etc.

But i don't think ill be getting 5 copies lol. Wont be able to keep up with it all. XD

I'm a bit too late but i was in the same situation as you 3 days ago and i don't regret buying a second one, especially because of the sale on e-shop. Enjoy your second town :).

I have just bought it because of the sale on the e-shop! (From ?34 to ?24...) and I don't regret it!
but thanks thou! (:

I wanted 2 towns too, but I also wanted to be able to visit myself so I bought another 3ds XD
This game is ruining us...almost tempted to buy a 3rd 3ds and town...

I was recently in the same position as you my old town was way too far to reset but I wanted something new and fresh so I got a digital copy and have loved my decision ever since! I love doing my second town completely different from my old town. Plus I decided to go with a theme based off an anime/manga that I absolutely love which made "starting from scratch" super fun. Only the first in game month was fairly boring but once you get passed that it's super fun!

I still play my old town too on occasion but, my new town is my focus. Once my second 3DS comes in the mail I'm hoping to be able to order and send sets of items from my old town to help get a decent start on my new town's homes. ^.^

Edit: I got my digital copy for free from Club Nintendo's closing thingy (I either already had or had no interest in the other games offered), but now is definitely a great time to buy a copy because of the eshop sale! ^.^

I was going to do the same thing (:

I managed to get another copy of ACNL free from a friend, and my kids have 3ds xl's so I use one of theirs to visit myself. If I didn't have my eye on the HHD AC themed new 3ds bundle I would be thinking of getting a third copy!

Its defiantly with getting a new copy!
I have a different town and different villagers
but i think I'm just going to stick to two twos for now. XD

I had to reset my very first town, as i was completely new to the game so i didn't have a clue what was going on!
So my second town is the one i don't want to reset, having got a perfect town, gold watering can, gold slingshot, and the other items are silver. With not much landscaping or a theme

I think this town will be focused more on landscaping and themes maybe, I'm not sure on that, new town is called Jurassic. XD

I almost got a free eShop copy as my Club Nintendo reward for elite status, but I ultimately decided against it because I hadn't played ACNL in awhile at the time. I think once I get an n3DS I might just buy a used cartridge so I can go back and forth between the two like someone earlier mentioned.

Have fun with your second town! :)

I have three currently. I only have all the stuff unlocked on my main town, but that's okay with me because I'm still trying to get all my perma-villagers in my other two towns before I start really trying to upgrade stores and landscape.
