Two normals ... too much?

I'm going to receive Fauna soon, trading Marshal to get her. Now I'm just wondering, I already have Molly in my town. Will having two normal villagers be too much?

Well, if you're going to go above eight villagers you're going to have at least two the same somewhere. Do you like the normal personality? If so, the doubles might as well be normal, right?

Only you can decide on that. I have 5 (!!) normals in my town atm; Marina, Fauna, Merengue, Molly & Chevre. The first three are dreamies so i'm keeping them. And allthough I really do like Molly I am letting her go and I will let Chevre go aswell. So after that I will have 3 in my town, it's quite a lot but I do like them all So yea.. I don't think 2 normals are to many.. as long as you really like them.

You will have to have multiples of some personality types since there are only eight (and space for ten villagers). I personally chose to have two normals and two lazies are I find them to be the 'least unique' of the personality types, I guess! I don't find two normals to be a bother really. I have three currently (not by choice!), and although some of their dialogue is pretty boring, they are quite sweet. You could always try out having two, and if you don't like it you could trade one of them away?

I have 2 normals in my town (Goldie and Daisy) it does get quite repetitive sometimes, but if they're characters you love then it's easy to get over it

Problem is that almost all normal villagers looks so cute! So hard to resist them!

I have 3 in my town, used to have 4 but honest i dont see and problem with 2 you'll have to have more then 1 personality type anyways if you want to have a full town!

Nah 2 normals isn't too much. I have 3 normals in my second town and it's all okay, they're all so cute aha you can forget they sometimes say the same things.. *covets Molly*

Honestly, as cute as they can look, I don't really enjoy that personality type enough for two of them. I currently have two Normals, and I'm kind of hoping that one of them leaves. I just get too much dialog overlap, in a way that I didn't with Smugs, Peppies or Snooties.

Tia just pinged my Mayor Cameron, and I will move her over to my third town, Temps, where I have a second copy of Fauna who I want to drive out. (Merengue is the other Normal in that town.)

I intend to replace Tia's slot from Progress with the Cranky wolf Fang.

Your villagers from the first eight slots, as the game starts for you, are from separate Personality categories. It's the design of the game. So, you can have, say, Nos. 9 and 10 belong to the same category?and that would give you three from the same category.

Your question about it being "too much" is a problem if your town is not complete (or near to it) for Public Works Projects due to not having representation from all eight Villager Personalities. If you're covered, then you're fine. Replacing Marshal, a Smug, should also result in you finding a different Smug.

It will get repetitive but there will be differences. You will find out fauna is a baby and she complains about growing up.

^ this for me too. I'm not fan of the normal personality and having two in my town drove me up the wall. But I never get tired of the smug/peppy dialogue overlaps (I have two of each in my town) because they're my favourites. If you actually like the personality I'm guessing it shouldn't get on your nerves as much. Fauna is adorbs, hope she settles in nicely for you ^_^

I actually have four normal villagers (Caroline, Maple, Marina, and Celia), two of which came from the campsite, so two normal villagers certainly isn't too much in my opinion. I happen to like normal villagers (they're really kind), and if you like them too, you shouldn't feel bad about having two or even more normal villagers in your town.
