Turnip + TT question

I have changed the date of my 3ds to do the reset trick to find dreamies in the campsite, but I'm starting to wanna give up. Now on my Mayor I have several turnips and I haven't touched any saved characters since I TT'd, if I set my ds time back to today will they rot or not?

If you TT backwards they will definitely rot. I've read that if you go forwards they won't, but I don't know if that's true.

TTing forward will not rot turnips, only backwards.
