Are your turnip prices for the week set?

E.g. you have a big spike pattern and get 500 bells per turnip. Can you TT back to Sunday, TT forward to the time when Reese was buying them for 500 and make a guaranteed profit? Or if you TT to Sunday and then TT back, will your turnip prices reset?

I think your turnip prices for the week are set but you can't time travel with turnips. They'll rot if you time travel at all.

Your turnips won't rot if you time travel forward so long as you don't pass the next Sunday, but if you TT back any amount of time they will rot.

The turnip prices are not set for the week. I made that mistake early on.

No matter what if you have a big spike do not TT forward or backwards, day wise.

Find someone who has Sunday and buy turnips from them. If you have a big spike someone will be willing to do that for you so long as you allow them to come sell.

I don't think they're set, otherwise people wouldn't complain about how they didn't buy turnips and then had a 5xx price.

Reese's buying price pattern can be changed by TTing a day backward. It's entirely possible to get a pretty high buying price even if today did have a much lower price, but you still have to deal with the RNG.
If you're that desperate on helping other players to rack up much more bells than doing the infamous Island trick, then this trick might help you.
And even better, if you have two towns and one of them have a high buying price, you can "lock" that town's time and date and have your other town set to Sunday morning to let you keep buying turnips and selling them at a high price. It'll definitely take hours and hours to earn 100,000,000 bells from turnips, but it's definitely worth the effort just for a few golden badges and it's certainly faster than doing the Island trick.

Speaking of turnip prices mine are actually really good today. (At least before noon, waiting for noon so I can check again.)

For past titles, the game might punish you for TT'ing by not having Joan appear at all... Don't know if this continued forward into ACNL... You're best if you just find somebody who has the day as Sunday.

Well, having the in-game clock not synchronized with the system clock in Wild World and City Folk don't necessarily prevent Joan from appearing but it would trigger a glitch that will make her run out of red turnip seeds and automatically cause the buying price pattern to be nothing but constantly declining without any spike. The only way to fix that is to set both of these clocks that matches each other closely enough and wait for a week or two.

In ACNL, red turnips are completely gone, and you're no longer punished of being stuck in a constantly decreasing buying price for 1-2 week(s) if both clocks are off-sync.

I never thought about that. I've got a town just for testing theories, I'm going to have to try that, I'm now curious if they are set for the week, because that never crossed my mind. Interesting, because I just had 523 earlier, which ironically ended at 67 today- good thing I sold at the 523!

Just tested it, nope, they're not set, the patterns were totally different. Good to know now though.
