I finally started over, since my old town has gone to crap since September when everything fell apart. I feel so young and it's almost nostalgic to start this again. I want some thoughts though on my town.

When I first started playing Animal Crossing, I was a total noob and I literally had no idea that there were ideal town maps, different faces and more variables. I learned that all along the way after I set up my town. After a year, and half a year of loss I've finally restarted.

What do you think of the map?

It was hard to find, but it has quirks that I really like about it.

  1. A vital trait to a good town, Re-Tail is somewhat close to the dock.
  2. Town Hall is in the center.
  3. I have a southern waterfall!
  4. The beach is facing east, different from my first town.
  5. The beach is also wider than from my last town.
  6. A small detail, but I really like this little pocket space.

lostineverfreeforest gave me the motivation and courage to start this over. You should check out his story.

So do you think this is a good town to start over with?

It looks great to me. I love retail being by the beach, but I also fish at the island a lot. If your not a fisherman then sometimes retail by train station is better for trading etc with other players. I also wish I had a bigger beach area but I'm a newb so didnt know the mechanics of the game before choosing a map. In fact I just said yes to the first one not knowing I had choices. I love the bigger beach area on your place cause I saw one person had put a path on their beach with trees on one side and flowers on the other. t was nice.

Well, Retail is great to have close by when selling all of your beetles.

Its great! I love the layout! And it's the smallish cute things like the pocket that make your town even sweeter and more personal, if that means anything? The maps pretty unique and the position of the retails great as you can sell all your island bugs! If you ever put a dream address up if be more than happy to visit sometime! Have fun!

My opinions (and they are just that - my opinions!)

1) Too many ponds - you have 4 and I like towns with one or two.
2) You have a split beach which makes fishing more difficult, especially in the beginning. I like towns with continuous beaches.
3) Retail is too far from everything - it would be better and more convenient if it were closer to the town hall.
4) River seems too long and takes up too much real estate.
5) It seems like it might be difficult to create paths that flow easily to connect all of your buildings.

I'm glad you're giving the game another go! :)
I like this map! You can do a lot with it from my point of view. Lots of space for villagers and PWPs
The wide beach, I'm so envious!
The ponds are nice shapes too. When I first got my game I used them as land markers so I wouldn't get lost or something ^^;;

Your map looks almost exactly like the one for my old town! I love that little pocket place!

How do 'you' feel about this town's map?

Meloetta,

I think your map is workable.

Interesting location for the Mayor's house. You may want a second human house neighboring it. The town map suggests you can get away with two, rather than three, bridges. (Space should be equal.) I would envision that second bridge parallel to the Town Hall. You could have an east/west path that connects them. And I like the south-side beach with, for example, that downward path going straight to the docks. (That's actually an attractive feature which I don't come across in too many of my past/temporary cycle towns.)

What is most important, with regard to this topic, is how you feel about this town map.

I love the map! The town hall in the middle is perf! Also love the long beach! So lucky! Great job! Easy access from dock to re-tail too! More fish and bugs yasss

Love where u placed your house too!

oh man, I love your map.. I like the placement of the tree and plaza!! also, I like how there are 4 ponds? yeah..

I like everything about it, except for the 4 ponds. (I prefer 1 or 2.) The important thing is that you're happy with it. :)
