Splatoon Turf Wars or Ranked Battles?

What do you prefer?

I personally play Turf War on very rare occasions only. Since I unlocked ranked mode (and I'm level 40 now) I have been playing nothing else. Well, almost. Today, I thought I could play some Turf Wars but to be honest, I got bored of them really quick XD

turf wars because I'm usually more in the mood for fun rather than the stress of ranked matches, however.... lately turf wars have been flooded by hyper aggressive lvl 45-50 (for me anyways) players that makes turf wars just as stressing as ranked matches. I guess I'd prefer ranked matches if I didn't care as much about my rank, but as of right now, I'm in the A's and I'm worried I might have a losing streak and fall down to the B's

TBH I prefer ranked battle too. I WAS an A- but stupid trolls and people I randomly play with made me a B+... It's super frustrating! But it will be funny when I get my hands on the Heavy Splatling Deco and locate, shoot down and KRAKEN ALL UP!! Haha i'm hilarious...

I just got my original NNID on my WiiU from my brother's, so I started a new file. For leveling, I do prefer Ranked. Turf War is fun too, though, and I don't always feel like being as aggressive as I need to be in Ranked.

It's funny, because after my first set of matches, the game would throw me right in with the level 40's in Turf Wars. The system works pretty well in that regard. I do need to climb back up to A-, though. Currently on C+. I've never really thought I was good at Ranked, but I guess I really have improved, judging by how short the climb to C+ was.

I like to play ranked if I'm feeling in the mood for what they have set up at the time... like, I'm always up for splat zones since I love defending and I'm good at it. Rain maker, I'm decent at and like it. Tower control, I sort of like, but I don't go on it too much these days. XD

I like to play turf wars a lot of the time as well and will be on it more if I like the maps. Though, I've been getting more addicted to ranked because whenever I go on, it's splat zones. XD

I rarely play Ranked. I find it super frustrating. And yet it always seems to get the good charger maps.

Marie, I thought you liked chargers, why can't you give me something besides Urchin Underpass and Port Makeral for Turf War?

I think turf war is the best mode. The game mechanics were obviously made for this mode and so too the maps. Ranked modes are fun but they can feel a bit tacked on at times.

I prefer Turf since my Internet and Ranked do not make a good combination. I try to play just for fun but then 30 seconds in I'm swearing my head off because a charger/inkzooka hit me through a wall.

Plus I'm literally always on the losing team in Ranked. I have not won a single match since I hit S rank, now I'm avoiding Ranked since I'm at S 4.

I started my new file and I don't have all my gear, but the game likes shoving me with all the level 35+ anyway so it can be intimidating when people like that show up and I'm like "haha I have no abilities rolled I'm sorry, team."

I hate putting Rank on the line with Random players I've never been with before, so I prefer Turf War.

I prefer turf wars. I always find ranked very frustrating, especially since I get the worst teams 95% of the time. That is why I never did better than a B. I also get bad teams often in turf wars, but I don't care if I lose a turf war and when I win anyways despite being against all odds, it does feel really good.

I prefer turf wars, I do play ranked occasionally but only if it's splat zones or rainmaker.

Turf when I don't care and just want to play some games with friends.
Ranked when I want to play competitive games but (S)uffer.
Squads for competitive but no risk of losing sanity.

Squad beats both, see?

I only turf when I'm trying out a new weapon or I'm S rank. I've lost it once and I can't be bothered to lose it again.

Tbh i find Turf wars boring :/ i mean there's more edgy moments in Ranked than Turf,also i prefer the maps they put in ranked

i love turf wars but the only ranked battle type i enjoy is splat zones, though only a few stages are fun for me. mostly the originals because they're easier to play in my opinion. that or they're more suited to my playstyle. lately i've been trying to rack up more points to simply max out my gear's abilities and slots so i've been pretty much ignoring any and all ranked battles.

looks like i'll be staying at B rank for a long time.

I used to mostly play in turf wars, but now I play a lot in ranked mode, mostly for leveling up gear, and leveling up my level before I got to level 50. I mostly play in it if its splat zones or tower control, I sometimes play in rainmaker, but I don't like it really. And sometimes I leave it to go in turf wars cause I always get bad teams that don't know how to play lol
