I've recently started a 2nd town so I've been scanning in the villagers I want to have live there. A plot for a villagers house seemed like it would be in what was an acceptable location. However now that the house is actually built I'm realizing it's making it really hard to walk around my river. Is there any way to undo this situation?

I am very hesitant to ask about this due to my previously screwing up and murdering all my flowers in my Cutetown but... if I TT'd back to the day before I scanned this villager in, laid down path tiles in the bad spot their house is in & then TT'd back to today would that removed their house from where it currently is? I already have Beautiful Town on so I know my flowers would be safe this time but I don't want to try TTing for this unless I'm 100% sure their house will be removed from where it currently is.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

UPDATE 12/26 - Last night I used an Amiibo card to scan in a new villager and to move out the villager whose house was too close to my river. I just went into Sheepish and out of my whole empty PWP-less town to choose from the game plotted the new villagers house in the EXACT SAME SPOT! I've never had that happen before in Cutetown! I'm so annoyed right now. If I boot this villager out with another villager is the same thing going to happen? Is there any way to keep a house from being built in this lousy spot? Arggg!

UPDATE - 12/29 - I am a total screw up. Sigh. I posted about how I screwed things up further on in the thread but I'm pretty upset with myself right now. :(

I’m not 100% sure as I’ve never scanned in villagers but I think it works the same as villagers moving in on their own meaning that once their house is plotted, it’s there permanently until they move out.

Yes, like ForeverGaming is saying, you can't make it be gone by TTing back. The fastest is to scan in a different villager when you're at 10 villagers and let the villager go, the one you're after but in wrong spot, then scan them in again.

Thank you for replying! I thought scanned villagers might work like move in villagers. I'll have to write it down so I remember if this ever happens again. Thanks again! :)

RTPF, you're a life saver! It never crossed my mind to just move the villager out! And the best news is I won't have to TT to solve this problem! Thank you so, so much for your help! :D

The situation would appear to be resolved now, and I don't yet have experience with scanning in amiibo villagers, but if I were to hazard a guess then I'd have to say it would depend on the timing of all this. If it were just in the plot stage and you hadn't yet saved, then yes, I have to imagine if you loaded up your mayor (or whoever else has the patterns) and went back prior to 6 AM (the time a new day rolls over and starts officially) and laid out the patterns in the bad spot then it should have worked. However, since you said the house was already constructed, there is nothing at all that can be done about that other than waiting for them to leave or forcing them out by scanning in someone else as was suggested.

Oh, that's a good point! Unfortunately, I didn't really think the placement was going to be as much of a problem as it so I stupidly saved and lt the house be built. I'm going to make sure no one moves into the exact spot this next time. Thank you for replying!

I updated the original post because I need more advice.

Really aggravated bump.

I've heard that when you scan in new Amiibo villagers they sometimes like to plot in the exact location of the villager you just kicked out. I know you can't lay down patterns to prevent the villager from plotting in that spot since the plot appears the very next day, but you should be able to plot reset until the house ends up in a more suitable location. No time traveling needed. Just when you log in the day after scanning your new villager, choose to create a new save file and run around with the new character to see where the plot is located. If you don't like the placement, exit without saving and start with a new save file again. When you do like the placement, go through the steps of setting up your house and getting your TPC from Isabelle so you can save the game. Then, you can delete the second character if you want and log in with your mayor.

BTW, I love your new signature. It's adorable! :D

It sort of surprised me since I've not had it happen before in my main town. Plus like I said my whole town was available to be moved into. I've never tried plot resetting before. Do you have to go through the whole train ride with Rover and all the beginning stuff each time? I can't believe I might have to plot reset just because of this one house.

Oops, I didn't see your comment about my sig. If you mean the one with the sword that's by Ariane. The one with the cemetery is by TikkiToxin. The one with the little sheep I created. (In case you're confused my sigs switch out if you hit refresh.)

Yes, when you plot reset you do go through the whole bit on the train each time, but if you don't plan on keeping the character you can just button mash through it. I just tap any letter for the name because a single letter is acceptable. It doesn't take too long when you do it like that.

P.S. I meant the signature with the little sheep. Although, I like all of them. I'd seen the cemetery one before and just saw the one with the sword now. I didn't know you could have them rotate like that so I learned something new. :)

That's a smart idea to just mash through it & pick a 1 letter name. I'm hoping when I go to boot the villager out that I get lucky and it moves the house to a new plot. Even just a few "feet" to the right would be a big difference. Thank you for your help!

I'm so glad you like them all! I found out how to make my sigs rotate a couple of years back on a different website. If you'd like I can PM you & tell you how it works. :)

That's okay. I don't have multiple signatures that I would want to use anyway. I just thought it was cool.

Glad I could help! :)

I'm such a screw up. I've never tried plot setting before but I need to move this out. This morning I created a new save file and went to look for the house. I found it & was so excited to see that it WAS NOT in the bad spot that I forgot I had to save the new save file and just quit. I went into my mayor and the house was right back to being in the bad spot again. Now I have to wait 2 more days to move this person out AGAIN, move someone else in & then because this person I have now is who I really want I have to move the 2nd person out to move this person back in. ARGGGGG! It's times like this that I wish I wasn't afraid to time travel.

Edit: 3 days... because of NYE I have to wait 3 days before I can move this person out. I have to see that *&?$ house in that *&?$ spot - reminding me of what a screw up I am in NL - for the next 3 days because I'm too chicken to TT & try to fix this problem sooner.
