helloooo!

so i've spent the last 3 or so hours tt-ing forwards and backwards, and forwards again, all in an effort to make cherry want to leave, so i can sell her to someone whos been waiting. no matter what i do--no matter all the net-hitting, complaints to isabelle, and straight up ignoring her, cherry (or any of the other villagers speaking about rumors) has never even hinted at a desire to leave.

before tt i make sure to talk to every other villager on the island, and ignore cherry. yet, when i tt 3 (!!!) weeks into the future, she was still running around, happy as ever. what gives? is there something new i'm missing?

pleaseeeee help! i really want to give this person the villager they've been searching for! plus, nmt are on the line! 😭

as of now, it actually still seems to be pretty randomized who offers to leave. exchanging a few short words with the villager in question might help speed up the process, tbh? from my experience only villagers i talked to rather frequently offered to leave, whereas villagers i ignored (rodney, benjamin, quillson) never really got a move on.

You don't need to talk to every villager. When I TT I don't talk to anyone so I'm not on speaking terms with any of my villagers, but they still have the thought bubble and want to move.
Also, considering trying the method where you TT forwards, look for the villager with the thinking bubble, and soft resetting immediately if it's not the one you want to move out.
Is Cherry you most recent move-in?

cherry was one of my starters! and when i tt forwards, not a single villager has the thought bubble, its so odd. almost as if they were all completely fine without me for 3 weeks lol

You need to speak to all of them before you TT including Cherry.
i will try this! thank you!

Hi there! This is the method I use and I got my dreamies super quickly! Its super fast and reliable! I explain more here about the way I do it c:

After you jump 15 days ahead, just jump 1 day at a time and you should find a bubble within 5 days. That's what I read in a guide and it's worked flawlessly in my limited experience.

You only need to speak to 1 villager once before you TT. Talking to the 1 villager starts the process.

If you got the bubble and it wasn't a villager you wanted to move out, you talk to another villager after that dialogue to reset the process.

im so sorry guys, but NONE of these are working at all! not a single person has pinged using any of these methods and i am incredibly confused as to why.....aaahhh this is so frustrating!!

I don't know why people keep saying you need to talk to villagers before you can start the process. When I (and my friends) cycled our villagers out we didn't even introduce ourselves to those unsightly villagers and they still asked to move without fail.

I TT one month at a time (15 days is fine too, honestly, just TT a while in advance because of how sporadic and random villagers ask to move out.) Look for the thought bubble, if you don't see any, TT one more day ahead and check again.

Also, since you seem to not be getting anyone to move out, I have to ask: Are you currently on the KK slider quest? If you're at a point before you're on the final part of the KK slider quest, you won't have people asking to leave.

Also, just making sure, but you do have at least 9 villagers right?

i think this might be the one!!! i have been putting off finishing the main game because i wanted to focus on cornering the stalk market and perfecting my home--went and talked to nook and he informed me i was stopped right on the final part of the kk quest! going back to finally wrangle him in for the concert, and will report back afterward. (oh and, i only currently have 8 villagers, with 2 empty plots. shouldn't be a problem, right?)

thank you!!

Are you talking to every villager you see walking around? If you only talk to one, it won’t work as well :/ also, are you putting the time to 12-3pm? That’s the time when the villager walk outside the most

You don't need to talk to any villagers at all to get someone to move out and idk why people think you do lol, I'm using the 15 days method and don't talk to literally anyone unless they have the thought bubble and I still get move-out requests... it's completely random who asks to move and hitting them with nets/complaining to Isabelle has never helped, not even in NL--in fact, I believe in NL hitting them had the opposite effect and you were supposed to just ignore them.

I used a method last night where I spoke to a few of them, TT 15 days forward, save and quit the game, and then TT back. In the three times I did it, someone wanted to move each time. It seems purely RNG based, since the first two villagers who asked to move were Whitney and Gayle (both of which are never leaving my island).

So far, this method worked the best for me and moving out villagers only takes me an hour max for the most stubborn ones. It's less tedious and more faster than the 15-day trick, imo.

Net hitting is a bad thing I think, all it does is put villagers on the "friendship ladder" and it will take long getting them off that. As for Isabelle, the options to complain is just meant for when they catch on to a catchphrase that offends you or you friends hang clothes in your store that might be crude and they start wearing that. It's kinda meant to put those reset those values.

What I found works best is to introduce yourself, and then straight up ignore them, after about a week or ten days I talk to them again, next thing I know they have the thinking cloud and are ready to move on.
