Are you a true Animal Crossing fan? How many Animal Crossing games do you have and would you consider yourself a true Animal Crossing fan? I have the GameCube and 3DS Animal Crossings (Population Growing & New Leaf) and I can name like almost half of the characters in the game, I know like almost everything about the game and I would consider my self a true Animal Crossing fan, can you beat that? (that wasn't suppose to be like a mocking type of thing I'm like literary asking if you can)

I do believe I'm a true Animal Crossing fan. I've been hooked on the series since I was 7. My first game was Wild World and I played that up until New Leaf came out which is like, 7 years I think? So I never got tired of WW. And now I'm hooked on New Leaf. I know every single villager by heart, know all the mechanics of the game, etc. So yeah, I'd consider myself a true fan. c:

Well... It's hard to say. New leaf is my first one, but I know all the villagers, I know all the cheats and tricks, etc. And I am addicted, 1800 hours.. So I guess I am a New leaf fan.

Little me was addicted to Wild World for the longest time, then City Folk came out and that was fun for a while but the fact that it wasn't portable meant I was still going to Wild World more often than not... and now I've found myself addicted to New Leaf. But really, what are the games you've owned/your knowledge of the games to decide whether you're a 'true fan' or not? If you play a game and enjoy it, I think you can be considered a true fan.

I think so, I played Wild World, Let's go to the City (City Folk) and New Leaf which I have three copies of. I play New Leaf everyday even if just for a few minutes and I own some promotional New Leaf items and some phone charms.

I also have the City Folk album from Club Nintendo.

I consider myself a true Animal Crossing Fan. Even though my first game is WW (when I was 6) I can name a lot of the villagers, I know how to obtain a lot of the items (gold tools, bugs, hybrids, etc.) and can name the games in order.

same! only i started playing WW when i was 6 and that was because of my sister, if it wasn't for her i would never got into gaming.

I got WW when I was 6 or 7, and due to my young age, didn't know there was another ac until I learned how to use the internet to google games. I've played WW since then though, and would like to say im a fan. I have NL, and its literally the only game I play now, since Christmas...

I had the GAMECUBE version as my 1st version, and I already know all 400+ villagers and specials.

INCLUDING FARLEY.

Yes. I am a true AC fan... and that's about as far as I feel the need to justify myself really :/

I'm a "true" Animal Crossing fan. I think anyone that spends a lot of time on their town is a "true" Animal Crossing fan. Even if they don't, as long as they're having fun with their game... being a "true" AC player doesn't mean you know everything about every aspect of the game.

Very true.

A true AND die hard fan of Animal Crossing. I have all the games except for Animal Forest, + and e+.

I want e+ for the e+ villagers, I want to see them in person!

The origin on how I got love on Animal Crossing is when I was 8 years old on my brother's birthday, he got Wild World. He might of played it I don't know, but a few days later he did give the game to me probably because he doesn't like it and I became addicted to it the day he let me play it forever!

New Leaf was my first one then I got Population Growing (GameCube) actually!

Yep. I know the original post wasn't meant in a mocking sort of way but it always rubs me the wrong way when somebody's like "prove how much you like this thing!" - I'm here on these forums, I highlighted that frustratingly light-colored text in order to read it, I'm posting here and playing the game, that's all anyone needs to know as far as I'm concerned

i cane name every bug and fish in the game, every type of music, what time it plays at, where you can find it e.c.t i know pretty much every single villager and their personality's and how to get every flower in the game! :D so yes, i would call myself a fan..

i used to be sooo obsessed with Wild World, and then i think i lost my DS ors something, but now that i have New Leaf i am obsessed again lol! its so fun

I think it's awesome that many of you guys are so knowledgeable about the game and are really dedicated players. I think that if someone enjoys the game, then that's what makes them a fan. Whether someone is just getting started with the series with New Leaf, or they've been playing since 2002, all fans are equal. There isn't any bar that you have to surpass to gain entry into the fandom. You don't have to play a certain number of hours a day, or be active on a message board, or have a popular blog to be a fan. Everyone is a true fan. I started with Wild World in 2005 when I was 22, and have only played that and New Leaf. I freely admit that most people know more about the games than I do. I have to rely on guides online a lot, haha :)

I agree with you 100%. I don't believe in trying to set criteria for so-called true fans. It's almost like going on a witch hunt for fake geek girls and making people prove their geek cred. I'm old enough to have owned an NES when it first came out, but that doesn't make me a better Nintendo fan than someone who started with a Gamecube.
