Trouble Breeding White Carnations

I've been trying to breed white carnations for WEEKS now to no avail. I have so many extra red and pink carnations from trying to hybridize them that I'm losing space. Fertilizer doesn't do anything other than guarantee another red or pink carnation. Are there any tricks that I'm missing? I'm lining up the flowers like this:

R= Red Carnation P= Pink Carnation F=Fertilizer

White carnations are quite hard to breed I've noticed. I have more success with this pattern here:

FXF
f being mixtures of red and pink and x's being a space. make it however big you want

white comes from pink and pink i'm pretty sure

You need two pink carnations to breed a white carnation.
