travel between towns if they are different versions -- anyone tried it?

I saw that you cannot share a dream address with a player who doesn't have the update -- I assume because they will be missing items and villagers. Does this mean you cannot travel between towns either? (I mean, if one has the update and one doesn't.) Does anyone know?

You can't visit a town that doesn't have the update and viceversa.

Yeah, I don't think you can use the Wi-Fi features if you haven't updated your game. I don't know about wireless multiplay, though.

I believe that if you haven't updated you cannot use the internet connection in ACNL at all.
Not sure, but thought I saw a post about it.

Maybe if you don't have the update yet, you should try the train station and see whether Porter lets you tracel or not.

This may be that last straw for me. I frequently grab my net and fishin' stick and visit (nearby) towns in a different season to fatten my museum. Like several others above, porter makes it perfectly clear that it ain't gonna happen. Currently, I have only one cartridge updated and it causes me no real grief. I have plenty of cartridges and a lot of SD cards to make whatever I want but, still, I'd like them all to be on the same track.

For the ones of us that isn't updating any time soon, just let's say goodbye I'm not feeling like updating at all, and thus all my online options have been restricted. So it's not only you can't connect with them, we can't even connect among ourselves!
