Please do not direct me to the Nintendo FAQ or Support, I tried to read the directions, requirements and preparations but suddenly felt more pressured, confused and scared about this procedure.
What I need is people with transferring experiences or knowledge about 3DS tech/programs.
Main obj: My questions answered clearly and specifically, getting to the point while giving off some pros and cons.
My Situation atm is wanting to transfer the data or save data that is on my 3DS to my 3DS XL.
$ - what should I do with the Save Data Transfer Tool App I downloaded from the eshop?
1. Which optional tool section do I go to? data management or other settings?
-If data management, what should I do here in order to contribute the safe and easy transferring of my data on the current system to the newer system. Or perhaps the SD card to the other system?
-If other settings, do I choose system transfer? If yes then here's what I already understand.
+it cannot be undone.
+the data I want to transfer over will overwrite the newer system data.
+system setting or credit card info will not be transferred. (But if I have a NN ID, I can link it on the newer system and continue from there on).
+deleting the eshop account after the transfer will prevent me from re downloading softwares.
+only use transferring within the systems you own.
+the country settings on both systems must be matched.
Now what I don't understand is:
A: "Any time-limited downloadable content and downloadable content with a limited number of uses purchased on the target system will be lost"
B - does this mean anything I already downloaded or bought on the newer system will be overwritten or lost?
C: "Any software or downloadable content present on both the target system and the source system will be replaced with that of the source system, and the original target system data will no longer be usable"
D - does this mean anything I have on my newer system will be un-usable because the current system data will replace or overwrite the one on the newer console?
E - SD1 will have save data from System 1, it says after System 1 Data is transferred to System 2, SD1 will now be used with System 2, and the SD2 will become un-usable with System 2, right? I have to switch the SD cards basically.
Now for some general software questions.
So I had purchased Animal Crossing: New Leaf, digitally, will that get transferred over including the saved data within it?
How about:
Pokemon Bank
Pokemon Transporter
Pokedex 3D Pro (& it's collected data so far)
Pokemon Dream Radar
Free: Zelda: 4 Swords Anv Edition
Software game:
Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword
Abyss 1: Sonic Powered: Anonymous Notes 1
And my Streetpass Mii Plaza data?
Rewarded if everything goes smoothly, (optional if you want something out of PKMN X&Y/ACNL/Gaiaonline.com
If I'm being lead to something irrelevant lead to erase/lost my possession of data, you will be ignored and remembered.
I've never tried a system transfer so I'm not sure but...
B- I'm pretty sure this is talking about things like demos that you can only play a certain amount of times.
D- I think this means that if you have a file on your old 3DS and your new one the file on your old 3DS will overwrite the file on the new one
E- idk
Don't take my word for this though. I have no clue what I'm talking about.
from what I understand;
A: it means if there was a dlc that was only available for a limited amount of time on the system it will be lost. Such as the Nintendo miis that came from spot pass, if they were on the target system they will be lost ,as in if it were on the 3ds you're transferring to, anything on the 3ds data being transferred will be kept)
B: anything that is on the 3ds that you are transferring to will be lost
C: if you have two digital versions. Say you have a digital version of AC on the new 3ds and a digital version of AC on the target 3ds, the AC file that is on the 3ds that you are transferring to will be lost, and the data on the 3ds that you transferred will overwrite it
D: anything that is in the new 3ds that you are transferring data to will be lost
E: don't understand SD cards, sorry
Basically anything that is on the 3ds you are transferring to will be lost, and will instead gain everything on the other 3ds, and the 3ds that had its data transferred will essentially be as it were new, and fresh out of the box.
I'm not too sure about the AC question, because I don't do digital, but if the save data doesnt transfer, you can still redone loans then some from the eshop
But as for the other titles, they will transfer.
Also though I get your situation, I think it's kinda rude to say "If failed or unsuccessful, I will remember you, and you won't be reward." I mean people here just try to help, they don't even want rewards, but to say that if they failed you're going to blame everything on them, when people are just trying to help is kinda rude :/
Yes, it is rude of me to say that but I simply don't want to be left in a standstill after following the wrong directions from someone or simply abandon the procedure when I probably have no clue what to do next.
I do apologize to those who are being helpful or slightly adviseful but I need to be cautious.
I think you should also avoid using that font colour. Yes, anything you downloaded on the target system will be lost, as it's overwriting your entire system with the data from your old. They'd have to be tied to the same nnid for you to get any downloaded content on the new system back. When you use an SD card with an intended system, that SD card's 3DS content only shows up for the 3DS with the same system ID it was created on, which gets transferred over. Thus if you try to use an SD card with another system you cannot access the data.
As for the extra questions. Yes, yes and yes. If you do a system transfer, all of your games and their save data follow.
Hmm okay, I'll see if I can attempt it tonight. Thank you.
Off-topic: is my font color too bright or hard to see with the background? I don't thin it's bright, rather a settle pastel pink unlike actual pink or hot pink. I apologize if it caused you discomfort o.o but it's my fave font color and I can't not use it.
