train station idea - helping people get train remodels faster

i had an idea about starting a thread/group thing about getting people to train station remodels? i mean i see a bunch of threads popping up about people visiting but i think it would be cool to have a group of people take turns traveling to someones town. and then the next day the group of people can go to someone elses town and yeah

idk the idea mostly comes from a game i played back then before it got shut down. there as a badge for 5k people to come to your house so they would do something like that

im not sure if this is a good idea and im not sure on how i would run it but i would love to hear suggestions


edit: i would probably ask people to get into groups of 3 and yeah
so it would be easy to tell people when to go because it would be like "group A youre next"
and it would be a lot of adding but they're free to delete them afterwards


also, theres now a spreadsheet!! the group isn't starting just yet but look out for it!!

I really like your idea! I do want the train station remodel myself! I say people can form groups of 4 (max # of people who can be in your town) And help everyone within their group..Its also a way you can make friends lol

if we make the groups permanent or something, we could separate and organize groups based on time zones, how often they play, and stuff like that.

we could also have permanent and temporary groups. like, temproary groups would be like a group of people that won't be part of this whole organization very long, and only visit other towns once or twice. and permantent groups would be full of people who play really often and will always be able to visit other towns when their group's day comes along.

i really hope this makes sense XP

i think once you have it planned out enough (where you have a pretty good idea of how it will all work) you should make the thread. if you make it and it doesn't work out, well, that's all that happens. but if it works, then plenty of people will be one step closer to their dream town! you have nothing to lose.. ^_^

I think instead of sorting by time zones, it might be better to sort by play time. Two people might be in the same time zone but have completely different playing schedules. For example a college student who plays in the afternoon before their night classes versus a working mom who can only play late after putting her kids to bed.

Exactly! Being in a given time zone doesn't mean you play at the same time as another person living there, or that you don't play at a different time than someone outside of your timezone. Instead, the groups should be based on the times they are prepared to be on at. For example, there would be a '3:30 group', a '4:00' group, et cetera. You'd have to decide whose 4:00 it is (EST or GMT are two good choices), but after that it would be rather simple. You could sign up for multiple times, and if you can't make it to your time one day, you can post that and ask for a filler for that day. Add a queue system for the host, and you're all set! This is a great idea, and I would be active if you were to start a thread on it.

I'm so down for this idea, b/c I'm super paranoid about letting random people into my town and running on my grass. I don't even jog on my grass. (Just pushing the joystick at full force) I walk everywhere, but B running on my paths it totally fine.

I like the idea and second jamesflin's suggestion. EST would probably be easier for most people.

I like this idea, and I would join that group. My internet is reliable, and going to someone's town doesn't take that much time (also, I enjoy visiting other towns).
