Does anyone that understands how trading villagers work mind giving me an explanation of the process? I've always wondered what the process is and how exactly it works

Thanks

when an animal tells you they are moving and gives you a date, you can invite other mayors over and they can go talk to that animal and convince them to move to your town. that's how i got stinky!

So all you have to do is talk to them some time before they move? Do they have to ask you if they can move in, or you just talk to them?

And I'm not sure if you know, but do both people have to be connected to the internet when they move in order to actually receive them? Or do you have to connect with each other afterwards?

What happens if you try to talk to a moving villager while you have 10 villagers already, but one of your own villagers are going to be moving in about a week? Would the other villager be queued up to move into your town? Or would it just not work?

I think I got an animal from StreetPass, so I don't think internet is needed.

Yeah, I know I've given my sister Lionel by accident from streetpass, but what would happen if they didn't actually move out? They say they were moving, but just didn't because you convinced them not to?

Would the villager be cloned? Or does it have to check again with the other game to see if they actually moved?

I'm confused about that

Trading: You have Pompom moving the 30th (for example), and your friend has Apollo moving the 31st (for example).

The 29th, you go to your friend's town and talk to Pompom to convince her to move to your town, and the next day (30th), your fiend goes to your town to convince Apollo to move to his town.

The giveaway is going to your friend's town and telling Apollo to move to your town.

I don't think you can convince them to stay at that point. They have to be all packed up before you can convince them to move to your town.

So you have to talk to them while they're all boxed up and ready to go?

Hmm, that's weird, though, because my sister didn't get Lionel that way. She didn't know he moved from my town until after she got him off streetpass. Maybe streetpass and internet trading don't work the same?

I'd like to know how you work out trading villagers which arent moving yet.

Like say, someone wants one of my villagers and they are trading me one of theirs, but both of us don't have them moving yet.

One of us finally gets that villager to want to move but the other doesn't, do we just have to trust that the other player will give you that animal when they eventually DO want to move?

My friend got Bam from a Streetpass, but it was a few days after we Streetpassed. Very interesting how that worked.

So, you literally can only get another villager to move in by having 9 or less villagers, then talking to a villager in another town that is already packed up?

Is this the whole thing?
