trading or adopting villagers

i've heard quite a few conversations about this and i dont know what it is.one of my villagers (marshal) is moving if anyone wants him.

You should head over to the villager trading plaza,
Marshal will be snatched up for sure in no time!

Basically adopting/trading means that when one of your villagers has all his/her stuff in boxes,
you invite someone over to your town and let them talk to the villager.
If they have 9 or less villagers in their town, the moving villager will talk about moving in to their town.
Trading is basically the same thing, but two ways.

Just a heads up, Marshal is a really popular villager! He's actually considered the most popular. So it's super generous of you to give him away! Make sure you give him to someone that really wants him. Some people might only want him to sell for profit!
