When you're trading with other players, do you prefer to drop all your items or put them up for sale in Re-Tail?

I just figured out you could trade using Re-Tail. Any thoughts?

I feel like it's just as much work for the person with the bells both ways but it's easier for the person just putting things for sale because the money goes right to the bank account. It also depends how much money you're dealing with

retail would be a lot more convenient for a bunch of reasons but i'm the laziest piece of trash so i never end up setting trades up like that. people who use retail for trades regularly must really have their **** together in life

I've always done drop trades, both in paying and being paid. But Re-Tail would be a better option for larger sums of money,

I do drop trades but I also never do trades involving large sums of money. I would probably do it more often if my Re-Tail were near the top of the map, but it's down in the bottom left corner so it's not very convenient for most of the trades I've done.

I think I'm going to do Re-Tail for some of my trades because
a) RIGHT next to my train station
b) I do expensive trades sometimes

Bell bags if trade is under 5mill, but anything over that I would prefer trading via Re-Tail.

Me too, if the trade involve large sum of bells, I would prefer set it up on Retails because such a pity for the person go back and forth, throwing the bells and facing lag/delay the same time, unless a small sum that don't involve running to ABD several times, I let them do drop =)

I prefer to get paid through Retail when it's 2mil or more and usually insist on it when it's a sale above around 8mil. The Retail in all my towns is pretty near to the train station, so it's not a tedious trip for the buyer. I feel like it's less work and less stress for both parties. I can be sure they're paying the full amount, not dropping bags of 10k instead of 99k, I don't have to pick up and reconfirm the money, and my train station is often a mess with random items I'm too lazy to sort. They don't have to count how many bags they've dropped or move around when the ground is full or worry that I've picked up a bag or two while they weren't looking.

I try and make it visually simple for people buying in my Retail. If it's a big sale, like 25mil, I'll organize the items they buy with different colored flowers or fruits. So the first round of 8 will be red flowers, the second round will be yellow, the third round will be white, and the last will be purple. Or whatever. I usually wait until they've bought the last item in the round before running to replace all 8 items with the next color, just so they know how much progress they've made and that I'm not sneaking in extra items for them to buy or something. It helps me keep track of the transfer, too, cos I'm pretty derp when it comes to calculating numbers...

I've always done drop trades, but then again I haven't done a trade that is higher than 3 million currently. For more expensive trades Re-tail definitely seems more optimal.

I always do drop trades, unless the trader requests otherwise.
And I don't know why, but if I ever do do retail trades, I take a really long time deciding on which item to put up for sale.

And when I pay someone via retail, do I give the item back? Or would it be rude...

I never personally expect the items back, but about half the time the buyer leaves them outside of Retail. I'm assuming they're just dumping them there to clear out their inventory to be able to hold more bells. Others sell them after buying a couple. It's technically an item they "bought" from me, so I consider that fine too.

I don't really specify what they should do with the Retail items because they're such cheap and plentiful things that I don't care. Especially if it's like, a 20mil transaction. A handful of flowers or a couple baskets of regrowable fruit is nothing compared to that.

i use retail for bigger trades because i have lots of paths and flowers so there isn't much room to drop bells unless its like? under 1 mil

Re-Tail.

I have been the buyer. (So far in my history of playing "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," I haven't had a villager that I sold as others have.)

I really am disappointed the game doesn't have a faster method. I find it hard to believe TPTB didn't have an awareness for how some would play their game.

When I'm selling TBT bells, I do Re-Tail. Anything else directly drop bells.

My Re-Tail is right next to the train station, so it'd be cool to do re-tail. I don't trade often and when I do I just drop bells however.

Interesting. I'll have to experiment. :) I love the idea of selling things at more exact prices and just having it all go to savings. I hate carrying so many bags of bells. If only there was an ACNL debit card!!

All you need it set up really useless items, eg: flower. Also whenever someone pay me by Retail, they always give me back those items assuming they really worthless plus it bother their slot when doing large transaction~

Most trades I do as drops, but if it's something crazy like over 4 mil i usually settle for retail
I once sold a villiger for 10 mil and didnt use retail...
That was a nightmare
