Trade gone wrong. What do?

So, I sold a villager to a person almost more than a week ago as she bought it for a friend.
She paid, up front, a bit over 35mill bells through the Re-Tail method.

I cannot contact this friend since she is only on FaceBook, which I do not have. She had trouble with her 3DS and had to get a new one which is why I agreed to wait a week. She was scheduled to pick up the villager today at 5:30 pm but is late. I really don't want to wait any longer, as I feel I've given enough time and it's starting to inconvenience me. The problem is I won't be able to do a refund until the next day because I didn't receive the bells right away through Re-Tail and the villager will move out the next day.

What do you think I should do? Should I wait a bit longer? Or cancel the trade all together?

I would wait. That's a lot of bells. Give it a little bit of time. She may have misplaced your info and needs to find it. I personally think she earned you waiting for her by how much she paid but that's just my opinion. Feel free to do what you want.

I'll wait until 10pm, but afterwards I think I'm done. :/

if you need to you could suspend the villager in boxes into the next day by changing the date tomorrow whenever you play immediately back to today. What I mean is when Isabelle pops up on your screen, don't start playing on the new day, travel back to today immediately and they'll still be in boxes.

Well, I meant do that and then just tell them that you'll do the trade tomorrow or something since it's late.

Considering she already paid, and paid quite a lot I'd wait... and because she bought it for a friend maybe her friend isn't available for whatever reason? just TT back to like 7am or something and keep TTing back to keep the villager in boxes?

Thanks everyone for the advice but a few things:
I plan to keep the villager in boxes and resell if the trade falls through.
If i do decide I no longer want to wait, I plan on refunding the bells the next day after the villager is sold.

I hope that makes sense. I know how to keep a villager in boxes, just a wonder if I should keep waiting in real life.
Edit: After reading some of the other replies, I'm going to wait a bit longer. That was a lot of bells and she didn't have to pay that much to begin with.

Give it some time, since they paid in advance. 35m is quite a bit of bells. After a few days, then maybe there should be a refund, but otherwise, I'd keep waiting. I understand your impatience, I've run into situations like this as well.

I'm late...but I'm glad you waited! So often things happen. Connection can be lost, the other person has an emergency...or something. I'm glad this ended well!
