I want to sell my second town, Onett, because there's two many niches in the map that I dislike. I have 3 bushes on my tree, and I need to sit to sell. I was wondering what town tree growth is determined by, actually days (like +1 for playing every day) or time overall (aka I can deny a mover and time travel maybe like 5 months and get tree growth).

Thanks

It's both. Hours AND days, if I'm not mistaken.

For example, the first stage grows when you've played for at least an hour on one day.

The third stage, you have had to have been active for 20 days and have at least 20 hours clocked in. This is what you need for Nook to ask to purchase your town.

I don't think you can cheat this by TT'ing, unless you already have the 20 hours in (for example, if you played/kept your Nintendo on for ten hours a day for two days in a row, you may be able to TT once a day, every day for the next 20 days).

Thanks. I dug into it and found out your tree only grows to 3 after you've hit the 20 days AND 20 hours, however I can't sit and I'm not getting an appraisal. Any reason as to this?

Hmm. It may be the 50 days and 50 hours, then? Sorry, I might have gotten it confused... but if the 20 days and 20 hours isn't working, the 50 days and 50 hours will definitely work.

Update: I googled it, and Animal Crossing's wiki says it's 20 days and 20 hours, but it's images says it's 50 days and 50 hours. Odd. But, like I said, you should just hold out to 50 days and 50 hours if the other isn't working.

That's annoying, I'd really like to sell now. Ah well, might just move my items and delete then because I don't feel like playing this god awful town for 50 hours.

You could always leave your Nintendo on for a day few days, but I suppose there are other alternatives to getting easy money very fast (i.e. turnip selling, if you're willing to time travel a lot for good prices on separate Nintendo)

It'd be a different story if I had my other system. My friend has it for the weekend unfortunately and idk how long he plans to keep it. I'm trying to figure rn how much my town would actually be worth to see if it's even worth it since I do keep an eye on my turnip prices and I'm starting a cycling town too for some more cash.

It seems like it takes the amount you've spent on your home, plus the amount you've spent on PWPs, then factors in things such as museum completion, badge collection, and perfect status (and maybe main street completion I can't tell)

i've spent MAYBE roughly 4 mil on the home
barely anything on PWPs
museum only has a 90% complete fossil collection and literally nothing else
2 badges
no perfect status

Would it even be worth it? lol

Oh, wow. Maybe you should just start over now, then. You'd probably get 7-8 mill back... if you're lucky. Which isn't that much. You should probably just wait for alternatives in the future, but reset your town now.

Yeah, I can make 8 mil back easy with the right turnip price. Aah I really don't know. I might do one more April fools day to get the pictures and then say goodbye.

My town trees are totally different from one another. Maybe it’s the 3ds versus the 2ds, idk. My towns were created so close together that it was readily apparent and very obvious though.
