I've seen this stuff everywhere and I'm wondering how one goes about sticking to a single theme? And how does "making a theme/themed town" even work? Sorry if I'm like, newb x1000, but I just want to understand how this works and if you do it while you're resetting or what?

I happen to be resetting soon so I want to know about this! Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure "Town Themes" are just how you decorate your town.

For example, my town is a mixture of fairy tale and natural "theme"
I have pink brick paths that go around my town but I also have forest areas where it looks very natural!
My town hall is the fairy tale exterior and I have lots of modern pwp's like the street lamp and the big tower.

I think visiting some dream towns with specific themes will help you in picking which kind of theme you want for your town!

Well my second town is a pink/cute/Pastel/fairy tale themed town. So what I did is I figured out who all my villagers were gonna be (with a bit of tweaking here and there) and you look for paths that really suit your town, make your characters fit with the theme, and figure out which pwp's you'll need to fit with your theme!

Hope this helped?

I don't have a set theme yet but I would like to do a tropical beach theme in mine.

I have three themed towns in my sig. You're welcome to dream visit, if you like. The first wasn't planned, but just ended up becoming a 4 season town. The other two were planned way before I started them.

Also, if you do a themed town, I think it helps to do something that interests you. For instance, I like Disney, retro cartoons and the color orange.I also always wished I lived on a farm, and harvest moon games were always one of my faves.

my town is forest themed for I am having natural looking villagers, lots of trees and plants everywhere! :D

It's just something you have to plan and brainstorm ideas before hand and also come up with more as you go along. I can be tough to stick to a theme sometimes but it pays off in the end and really ties your whole town together. I have two very different themed towns, Starbell is Zen/rural type themed which is a simple but nice theme. Moodust on the other hand is Sailor Moon themed which is much more complicated so I have ideas and designs that relate to the anime and manga plus a more fairy tale/urban theme as Sailor Moon takes place in the city of Tokyo. ^.^

I've been indecisive about themes for a while now. Changed my mind several times. So I'm just gonna make my town into a place I can relax. A place that feels like home. c:

My town isnt really themed at the moment. I just have a lot of crap every where ha ha.

I have a modern-ish theme to mine. So I have the modern train station, town hall, police station, and all my characters' houses are modern. I have a modern bridge as well. I just liked the modern styles better than the others, so that's what my town theme is. It's the aesthetic I enjoy.

I just wanted to pop in to say that you shouldn't feel pressured to have a theme at all, if you don't want one.

You might want a theme, a color scheme, or any number of unifying factors that are currently popular, but if it isn't something that you particularly want or are not interested in, then just do without and have your town the way you want.

My current town doesn't have a theme, for instance.

Just wanted to put that out there - pressure to have a town considered "pretty" by others can be uncomfortable, and what matters is that YOU like playing in it.

Picking a "theme" can be tough! :( My first town is "zen" themed. Almost all of my pwp are "zen," and my paths look like dark stones. There's plenty of bamboo and koi ponds everywhere! I really like how it looks, although the bamboo is a big pain! :( It grows and grows and grows! It can be hard to upkeep, as I have 80+ stalks probably. It sure is pretty, though!

My second town is a fairy-tale/alien-esque theme! Ive just started this file, so I've only got my paths and flowers down. I honestly haven't decided what kind of pwp I'll add, as there isn't really think that looks "alien."

Anyways, what I do when picking out a "theme" is look at paths first! If I find a beautiful path I like, I will try to add pwp I think would look nicely with it! Mix n match what you like, friend! :)
