My mayor Aidan actually follows a bit of a trend I have when making custom characters for a game; male, black hair (faux hawk or messy when possible but sometimes the style changes), dark clothes, sword collection, and more outgoing with NPCs than real people (namely because real people are frustrating at times). I have some things in common like collecting medieval weapons and wearing dark clothes but other than that he's almost a separate person.
I actually started the trend of male characters years ago when I was just starting Runescape and got annoyed by various things (no I'm not telling you my underwear color! It's not that kind of role play game mr. weirdo-who-says-he's-fourteen!) so I made a male character to avoid having jerks hit on me and because I liked the character design better (ooh that granite top looks cool, I'll buy one... Why the **** is my belly showing? It's heavy armor made of granite with boulders for shoulder pads! The guys don't have their stomach exposed when they wear it! "Hah hah, your flimsy dagger cannot penetrate my mighty armor unless you aim for my needlessly exposed navel!").
Using a male character to avoid having people hit on me worked well for every game except Free Realms, girls were so much more aggressive and stupid about it there though and I gave up on the game several times because I just couldn't deal with all the nonsense. I swear some of the conversations I had with people I knew less than five minutes were so inane. *crazy chick wants to be friends, accept?* Sure why not? "Wanna be my boyfriend?" "Umm, no" "Why not?" "I don't date strangers on the internet" "Why not?" "Because I don't know you" "Jerk!" *crazy chick has removed you from her friends list* Ah I miss Free Realms, good times were had by all.
I kinda ranted for a bit there didn't I? I hope someone was amused by these shenanigans but if not then sorry for ranting.
