Town layout and house placement

I spent quite a while resetting for a layout I like and this one is almost perfect in terms of what I wanted - brown station, blue town hall, peaches, star shaped snow, west facing beach with south facing waterfall, two ponds and a little private beach only accessible by swimsuit. I don't really like the plaza placement however. I'm wondering what you guys think in terms of the map layout and where I should put my house? I initially wanted to put it in front of the east waterfall but there are villager's homes in the way, so now I'm thinking next to the south waterfall.

I'd say to put it by the waterfall like you suggested or near some of the empty space by Re-Tail in the top corner.

The plaza IS a little oddly placed for now, but at least you can place bridges later so you won't have to walk through it to get around town!

My only gripe is that I never like having re-tail in the top half of town, but that's just a me thing... I like it when it's not a very far walk from the island basket at the dock, so I can go beetle hunting on the island and sell it all a bit quicker!

I also like the idea you had for putting your house on that little "peninsula" by the southern waterfall.

A house near where your player currently is on the map is a good idea as long as it's not too close to the cliff since you'd be able to have plenty of room for landscaping if you want it ! Putting it there is better for if you'd like spaces for PWPs when the villagers near the other waterfall move (if you plan on letting them go eventually).

Bro first of all, that town map is actually goals out of curiosity, what name did you end up picking?

I think where you have your character icon positioned is a pretty solid space, especially given most of the other suggestions I would have given already have villagers living there

If all your main locations weren't concentrated in the North of the town, I would have suggested building Brewster's where you're currently suggesting as a house location, but we since both retail and the town hall are at the top of the town, I'd recommend putting the cafe up that direction too, either to the spot on the left of retail or right of the town hall, even directly in front of the section of river with the kind of shape in it
