Tortimer Island References?

So this thought just came to me. Why does the game have an entire mermaid/underwater set when there are no animal mermaids NPC around? Could this mean that there will be a possible mermaid/merman or some sort of mermaid outfit in the next Animal Crossing game? I think the Islands are pretty mysterious. I mean now we got a whole family of Kappas...whats next? Talking fish and dancing mermaids? What are your thoughts about this?

Well, there are already octopuses in Animal Crossing, so it wouldn't really surprise me if they decided to include more marine creatures. I'd personally like it. It would teach children to care about all walks of life, not just the big animals. I highly doubt they'll include mermaids, though. Mermaids aren't animals, and they'll only be including real creatures, I would imagine.

I don't know though, is stitches not a teddy bear? I mean I know he's a bear cub, but his design is just like a stuffed teddy.
So possibly they might have an animal with a mermaid like design?

I put pictures of the octopi in my mermaid room seeing as they're the only marine animals we have in the game. I wish there were more too

Yea, I have to agree with you. I mean the game is called Animal Crossing for a reason. The games title would lose its meaning if Nintendo started putting in a bunch of aliens or whimsical elements into the series.
