Too many normals--who should go?

I have 3 normal villagers and just one of each of the other personality types, so I want to kick one of my normals to bring in my next dreamie who my friend has offered to give me. But I really like all my normals, and I'm having a hard time deciding who to get rid of I like them all pretty much the same amount so I really want to hear other people's opinions.

My normals are Lolly, Chevre, and Marina.

Chevre was one of my initial three move-ins for the plots Tom Nook gave me, so one thing she has working against her is that she still has her starter house I really dislike her house and prefer her real interior. But as a villager, I really love her. Because I got her within the first few days of the game being out, I've had a lot of time to grow attached to her. I also have all these headcanons about her and her friendships with other villagers lol. I usually play the game early when she and the other normals are the only villagers awake, and her house is always the first one I visit. It's became a routine for me to go see her first thing in the morning, and tbh I couldn't imagine NOT having her at this point ;;-;;

Marina is the one everyone tells me to let move. Seriously. Everyone I've asked this question to automatically says "kick Marina!" But I love Marina I love her design and default outfit so much. I know the octopi are pretty common in this game due to the Nook Miles Islands mechanics of rolling for species before villager, so it wouldn't be too hard to get her back if I regretted it, but she's actually asked me to leave multiple times and I always say no because I CANNOT BRING MYSELF TO KICK HER OUT. She's too cute! Too sweet! I've had her for around a month and I've really bonded with her. She's also my only octopus and the only female octopus in the game, so even if she's technically "common" she still stands out among my villagers. (Also, my favorite color is pink lol.)

Lolly was my most recent normal to move in. Chevre and Marina have been here way longer, so I don't have quite the same bond with Lolly that I have with them (yet). I also wasn't even planning to get her at first; I found her on a Nook Miles Island and mostly took her because I didn't want my plot to close. However, I had her in New Leaf and I really loved her in that game. She was one of my favorite villagers and I feel like as I spend more time with her, I'll grow more attached to her the way I did in NL. Also, she's absolutely ADORABLE. I feel like when you read these paragraphs, it sounds like Lolly is the one I like least but she's really not ;;-;; She's just the one who moved in most recently, so even though I had her in NL, I still feel like I need to get to know her (or re-know her) in this game. I love the feeling of bonding with villagers who have recently moved in so I feel like I have a lot more memories to make with Lolly. Also, like the second day she was on my island the sky was really cloudy and she said something like "The sky is overcast but it's sunny in my heart" and I just melted.

So yeah, I know in the end it's my decision but I'd really like to hear everyone's thoughts!

I would get rid of Lolly. You had her in New Leaf and kind of got her out of obligation, feels like it's better to have fresh experiences. You also seem really attached to Chevre and Marina, so she seems the easiest to get rid of.

I personally would get rid of Marina but based on your post I’d get rid of Lolly. You seem set on getting rid of her over the other two.

I'd say Lolly based on your post. You had her in New Leaf and it'll be nice to get some new faces around your island. I know she's your most recent move in so it's harder to be more attached, but you really seem to like Marina and Chevre. I'm personally not the biggest fan of Marina, but you really seem to like her the most of the three you posted about.

Have you considered moving Chevre out and back in again to get her real interior? You can take the exact same Chevre back immediately since there's no 16 villager cycle. There's a hold my villager thread in the New Neighbor Network that you can find here. If that's the only thing holding you back from keeping her, I'd look into this. She's my favorite and I love seeing her get some love <3

edit to add: I did this with Dom on my old island so feel free to PM me about moving villagers out to get their real interiors.

They’re all adorable of course, but if I were you, I definitely would keep Chevre as she means a lot to you and you developed a whole routine around her.

It also sounds like you’re very attached to Marina too, and who wouldn’t be? I’d therefore pick Lolly as she’s your most recent move in and you had her in your previous towns anyway so a fresh face would be good.

I say Chevre. It sounds like the reason you are attached to her is because of the time you spent with her, whereas you have deeper connections with the other two and you can build that same bond you have with Chevre through spending time with newer residents.

I’ve said this elsewhere but it continuously gives me such joy to see Bunnie in the morning when I play, ears floppin about. She was my first villager in CF and plopped her house right beside mine back then. It’s so lovely having a mix of old returning friends and new faces on your island.

I know what you're going through.
I currently have 3 lazies : Zucker, Sherb and Erik.
Initially, I wanted to keep all 3 as I find them adorable but soon found the dialogue to be too monotonous.
My deciding factor was the fact that Erik's house has the crappy DIY interior. Also Sherb and Erik seem like carbon copies of one another in terms of hobbies and body movement.
I know that Marina is into singing but I'm not sure what hobbies Chevre and Lolly have.
For now I would boot Chevre just because of her house interior as it seems to be something that bothers you. I would then try to re-invite her.
I personally prefer Lolly over Marina but it seems you are more drawn to Marina.

Out of your list I'd boot Chevre. The normal house is a huge minus in my book. Chevre is kinda cool but I thin the reason why you really like her is because you've by far spent the most time with her. If you regret it you could always find her on an NMT island in the future, and re-invite her with her normal house. Either that or you could easily get Chevre back from someone for... very little in trade.

All of them are ok in my opinion, but I would move Chevre out because of her default interior and if its your choice you can move her in again if you have her card. Lolly could also move out as a second choice since you have her in NL as well.

Based on your post, you’re most likely to get rid of Lolly. But personally, I’d get rid of Marina. Actually, in my own island I just let her leave this week too. I like her and all but I’m not worried because I know I’ll get her back easily if I regret it suddenly. After she left I found her twice in the islands. Lol. She’s so common in this game and literally every single town I went to had her so I guess that’s also why I let her go so easily.

After reading your post, definitely Lolly. I don't think you're honestly that attached to her since it almost seems like you got her because you used to have her in NL. Not that she isn't great, but it seems like you've really bonded with the other two.

I think you should get rid of Lolly, the second option is Chevre because of the starter house (and you could bring her back later eventually with her real house).

I honestly dislike Marina a lot, and shes way too popular, I think its a bit rubbish to have a villager so many others have. I had this happen when i got stitches from a mystery island, id see everything he said on someone elses timeline.

I love all three villagers, but I vote Chevre. She has a starter house, which is sad. But the good thing about letting her go now, is that eventually you can get her back, and she'll have her actual interior! It'll give you time to bond with both Marina and Lolly and maybe by the next time you run into Chevre, you would have already earned the pictures of either Marina or Lolly and/or just you're ready for a change. So it would be the perfect time to invite Chevre back! ^_^
