Too Many Cyclers?

And this is why I'm taking a break.
I literally cannot deal with so many people shouting at me on a daily basis. It sounds stupid, but it really did take a huge chunk out of my social life when I used to do it constantly because of the demand.

I can see how it would take SO much time. The day that I stalked all of the threads looking for Jay, I was literally on my computer for hours clicking on threads. I at least could do something else while I was waiting. That day I pretty much did no work at all. These boards are bad for my productivity. :P

There seems to be to many cyclers right now. It seems that more villagers than ever is getting voided.

The one thing I wish was that the current villager was in all of the cycler's titles. I know it isn't so easy to change it, especially if you're cycling fast. But if I get a free spot, I'll use the search function to look for my desired villager. Last month, you'd find a few cycling towns but lots of posts with people wanting to giveaway or trade. But now, you get almost a whole page of cycling towns and it takes too long to look to see who is the current villager being given away.

In my personal opinion, putting current villagers in the title would make it all very clunky and unattractive. It's normally in the first post or in people's signatures, so there isn't much searching that you have to do.

I don't have a problem with it but when people try to start their own cycle shop, it always dies out :/ I think there should be a stricter rating system with the cycle shops and I also feel like people should pay attention to how the shops do.

If the cycle-thread has a list of current villagers, villagers adopted/voided/reserved and the name, if possible, in the title - it seems, to me, that it's working. Or that way of doing it/that "model" is working. When a cycling thread don't want to reveal the villagers in the cycle-towns then it's hard to get peoples attention.

I think it is great that there some out there who wants to spend so much time and hard work on giving others their dream-villagers for free. I've gotten a few from different sites myself. But there are a bit too many and it is hard to find out where your desired villager is up for adoption.

Perhaps people should not make new threads - but instead join others? It would be a lot easier if there were 10 threads with a whole bunch of cyclers! Then they could all take a break once in a while and there would be a bigger chance to get the popular villagers adopted since there would only be 10 threads to keep an eye on.

We try to keep our list, who is active and who is in boxes/move-ins our first 2 posts. My partner has been sick and I had to do a few move-ins in my main town. That is time consuming :) Its hard when you have more that one cycler to keep the villager in the title. Especially if we are not cycling at the same time. So that doesn't work.

While I'm thankful for the cyclers, my only gripe is some are a little to into moving villagers ASAP. I've seen too many villagers voided who are moderately popular, like Bunnie and Bluebear, but the right person wasn't online in the fifteen minutes before the cycler moves on to the next. I'm fine with raffles and auctions for the popular and auto voids for the unpopular but a lot in the middle are wasted. Villager names in the thread title would be great for some, like Bam. I'm looking for him but the name is too short to search for. Still, it's a valuable service for the community.

I agree! I've seen them void popular villagers and be like "i'm done cycling for the night". Why not just hold onto the villager until the morning? 15 minutes for second tier villagers is way too short. Then again i'm not a cycler so what do I know.

As a cycler, the holding times can range; we hold Villagers for 15 minutes - an hour+ or for even days. It depends on the cycler AND of the Villager popularity, we're not going to hold onto a not so popular Villager (Example: Kid Kat) for an hour vs. a highly popular Villager. (Example: Wolfgang) Cyclers want to obviously cycle on, so other Villagers move and others get the chance to claim other Villagers. We'd love to save ALL the Villagers and find them homes if we could, it's just not possible lately due to 1. The increase of cyclers, which is good/bad. 2. Holidays 3. Bad timing

Yeah I know it sucks your Dream Villager gets voided "just because the cycler couldn't hold them longer." We're not obligated to give you any specific Villager, you just have to be on at the right moment/right time. These are pixels and WILL appear again, many cyclers (like myself) - reset towns so Villagers come through again.

& another note - (some) cyclers DO announce "I'm done cycling for the night" when a Villager is moving. Most/or not all let the Villagers void themselves in the morning if no one has claimed them, it's not their fault no one claimed them throughout that period.

You are aware that when searching for a villager like Bob or Bam (With three letters in their name or less) You can put "Bob" or "Bam" Which the search engine will allow... ^_^

I counted the number of cycling threads on the first page. It holds 20, and nine of those have the cycling tag. I don't think that that is proportionate to those lurking VTP. So yes, I really do think that, not to mention that only about 40% of villagers are/can be considered even slightly popular. And, there's so many that cyclers will auto void villagers; just to find the aforementioned 40%!

Hm. Not really. Don't think you can have 'too many.' I only follow ones that are well structured, easy to keep up with, and don't have a crap tonne of rules.

Crap ton of rules in which sort of way? Like, 16 rules? [I tried to pun but nevermind.]

I enjoy all of the cyclers, because I get to have more options to dreamies. Like; I got Elmer from one cycling thread and rolf from another and getting pietro from another one. Three dreamies in three days <3

I love cycling threads! It's fun to see who's moving out and how many people want that villager xD
