One of my favourite kinds of furniture items are the food! They are so fun and adorable and I wish I could incorporate them all somehow. I am making a sushi restaurant and the amount of sushi/japanese food items are out of this world! But there are so many that if I display them all, the restaurant just feels cluttered and fake (since no one is actually eating) and it eats into the furniture limit (which is awful, I wish there isn't a limit in the Switch game). So now I have to pick and choose which ones to actually display :( Such a tough thing to do for me, although it probably is simple for many of you.

Does anyone else have a problem picking and choosing which items to display from your favourites? Which is your favourite category of furniture items? Mine is food, obviously. I'd love to hear about yours! And if you have any system on choosing what to use and not use in your decorative designs, please share :)

I really love the plant items! I can't take care of plants irl but they looks so pretty and refreshing and I love having them scattered everywhere in my house. I also really like how you can display flowers from outside as furniture and they come in cute lil vases or pots but that means there's even more choices to be made about which ones can stay huhu

i don't really have a system for choosing but i think i lean towards the brighter/more vibrant looking plants more? I like the pothos especially! but it also really depends on what the rest of the room looks like but i guess the fun is in figuring out which piece fits best?

but yeah! the food items are really cute too and i find it funny whenever i have a lazy villager over and they tell me that if i'm not going to eat the food i should just give it to them instead :))))) i really like how the pancakes look but i don't know where to put them yet so they're in storage until i figure out what my next room will be.

a sushi restaurant sounds like a cute idea and i'm sure whichever items you end up displaying will make it look great! have fun decorating!

I'm kinda obsessed with lights/lamps, as how the lights/shades decides the tone of the room. Mostly obsessed with finding the combo of fabric to refurbish the light and its effect. I also kind of into drink items. Trying variously refurbished drink items are so fun~

Oh yes I feel the same way with all the Asian food, not just sushi. I love the big variety the WA update brought, it's so much more better and easier to make a restraunt without the same 2 dishes.

For me, it might be tables and chairs. There's quite a few selections, plus you can redo them which is better. While I mainly stick the the natrual tables, there are others that work well with my rooms.

I'm kind of obsessed with all of the Asian furniture. I ended up creating a second character just so that I could use more of it. I decorated my mayor's house using some of the fancier pieces, and created my alt to be a farmer and have a more modest home. Between the two houses, I was able to use almost everything that I wanted.

Specifically, I love using a lot of bonsai and cushions. They are both so versatile, especially since you can add a custom pattern to the cushions. I have a lot of then distributed throughout my rooms.

Omg YES! I love the plants too! And pothos is one of my favourites as well because it's such a bright a happy green! And the snake plant is also lovely! I actually have a room with all the plants I love! It makes me so happy just being in that room ^_^

Ooh yes! I also love experimenting with the light colours. It really adds a mood and tone to a room and I love how you can also see it from outside! And I'm also obsessed with the drinks. I love how so many of them can be refurbished so one item can be like 4 to 5 different things. ^_^

Ooh yes. I love the alpine table and chair and the whole set in fact. I love how you can refurbish the wood colour AND the fabric. They look so cozy that if I had a country home in real life, I just know it would be the perfect furniture set for that lol. I also love the writing chair and customise it with different shirts. And I also mainly stick to the natural furniture. :)

Ooh the bonsai are super cute! The maple bonsai, ponderosa bonsai, and holly bonsai are some of my faves. I have them all in my plant room! I love all the other ones too but their pots were too wide for the tables I was using unfortunately. And yup. I use a lot of the cushions too since they're adorable and look so cozy. ^_^

How I go about it is that I swap the foods out monthly depending on the holidays in that month. I do have a few favorites I always like to keep out though since I like their look a bunch. As for a favorite category, my favorites are general clutter items. Anything that can give a somewhat "controlled chaos" vibe. Besides that, I really like the look of the ingredient items.

My problem is there is too much cute furniture in the game. I end up having too many favorites and my character houses just look like cluttered messes. I try to separate my rooms with different furniture series, but then there are still plenty of random cool items on the tables or by the walls. I like a lot of the zen furniture like the swords and bonsai plants.

I LOVE the food furniture so much. I feel you though. I don’t really like leaving food out in the cafe/restaurant rooms because it looks too weird with no patrons, but I always end up displaying them and using gyroids as customers :P The food items, Asian furnitures, and plants have to be my favourite categories.

I had the same problem with the food items when I was making my character's Cafe! I wish I could add more stuff to it because there's some items i wish i could throw in but can't because of the limit. I kind of just went with whatever I personally thought looked or worked best in locations. Also went nuts in her upstairs game room because I would find new things that I'd want to throw up there but couldn't find the space, I don't know how I haven't reached the limit in there, there's a lot of toy items in there because I would find more and HAVE to put it up there some where.
