tons of dead spots in one area?

is it possible to have a ton of dead spots in one concentrated area?

like, i've got a 7x7 square and more than 15 of them are dead spots, apparently? it's driving me nuts bc i've never had this bad a problem with other areas of town. and i did check - i'm no where near the 12 in a row rule.

is it instead possible that i should just not plant 20 bushes/trees in one day, but do it a day at a time? is there a limit to what will grow each day lol

I think there may be a limit to how many plants of any kind (except flowers) can grow in each acre - I think it's 15 for each 7x7 square? If this is true, that might explain why you are seeing so many dead spots.
