Why all the hate? I find it a very amusing, somewhat weird game. Please discuss in the comments. No nastiness please. Also, if you want to check out my brother and I's TL blog, it's tomodachilifekids.blogspot.com
Thanks x

For a lot of people, it got really repetitive and boring way too fast for them.
Not to mention, there's barley anything to do once you unlocked everything on the island.

I will admit I'm one of those people, but I still pop the game in time to time to see what my island has been up to, though I don't do it nearly as often as I used to when I got the game at launch.

I burnt through it. I'd seen everything there was to see in about a week :/

I was one of those people who bought Tomodachi Life on its release date and when I started to play, I began to have a borderline addiction because I was playing the game for 8 hours a day. That went on for two weeks but after those two weeks I did stop playing for 8 hours and would only check for maybe 15 minutes four times spread out throughout the day. I agree with spCrossing. It does get repetitive, boring and can be stressful. To be honest, Tomodachi Life is a life simulation game so it does make sense that one could develop negative feelings towards the game because it is a reminder of how life flows for everybody. Maybe the people who have shown hate towards Tomodachi Life feel that there is no air of childish mischief that can occur to make them feel better about how life's going.

I really enjoy this game. This probably sounds weird, but I appreciate it because it doesn't take much brainpower. I can play it while eating with just a stylus or while talking to someone on the phone.

Also, this game has some of the best streetpass applications. I love getting travelers, expanding my clothes/hats options, and sending my own travelers out into the world.

For the record, I have about 200 hours invested into this game with 138 stars.

Mostly the price. The content in it is just not worth ?40 compared to pretty much any other game in that price range as far as I'm concerned. ?5-?10 as a game to play when you've nothing better to do sure, I could have seen that being somewhat reasonable, but ?40? If they're charging ?40 then I'm going to compare it to other games that cost ?40, and it just doesn't hold up at all.

The game had a severe lack of content compared to what Nintendo claimed the game to have. It also had a severe lack of player input compared to what I was led to believe.
Hell, some features were straight up lied about. You can create and cardiograph your own songs? No, you can change the lyrics attached to syllables in pre-set songs. Please don't lie, Nintendo. You're not Peter Molenuex.

The only good thing I can really say about the game is that it did have a lot to collect if you're into that...But so did Donkey Kong 64, and that had an actual game attached to it as well.

Most of this wouldn't have been an issue at all if it just didn't cost so much for so little actual content. I don't think most people would have even bothered with the game if Nintendo didn't make it seem like something so much more than it actually was.

Okay, I got it for ?10 at ASDA, and I thought it was really good thats all

It lacks reason to play it after a few days. Just as said before, once everything is unlocked there isn't more reason to continue messing with them. For me, it lacks charm and the general customization as well which keeps me coming back to Animal Crossing. If anything I found it more enjoyable to see what other people have done with Tomodachi Life than to actually play it myself.

Somewhat repeating a lot of what has already been said but... I think essentially that people felt "burned" (or ripped off) by it. While they were lured in by some of the marketing like the special Nintendo Direct for the game, when they actually had the game themselves they felt like they had been tricked into thinking there was more to the game than there really is. Essentially, there's little more to it than the Nintendo Direct shows. So that, coupled with the high price, definitely causes some dissatisfaction. Especially when typically Nintendo over delivers on content, not under delivers.

I have doubt that a future entry in the series will be free-to-play/start.

Honestly, it just seems like one of those games you have to really be into that kind of game to get much out of it. Personally, I love it. I find it really amusing, especially since all the people on my island are my circle of friends and we kind of make decisions about what happens together. We even have developed little stories and personality traits for the Miis and it leads to hilarity.
