I don't know whether your in college or highschool, but normally missing one class won't be too detrimental especially the first one, just read the sylabus so you aren't surprised by something mid semester.

Don't worry, you won't be dropped. Just make sure you notify the teacher ahead of time, if possible.

Well... then you have a much more strict school than mine... 4 absences must be allowed and most of my classes don't take attendance...

Laid back doesn't really happen too often. Professors are usually too busy nowadays.

It would be nice though.
