Believe it or not, I never did any plot resetting because I already had all four houses when I started adopting my dogs, Also, I really don't have the patience for the tedium of resetting over and over. I do envy people who have all their villagers lined up perfectly though!

For some reason the dogs all moved near the cliff over looking the sea. I guess dogs just like water. More likely is that because I adopted all 10 dogs in just 5 days, I was doing a ton of TTing to get my unwanted villagers to move out to make room for them, so my whole town was covered in fossils and gyroids, but the cliff areas were relatively free of buried treasure, so I think that's why they moved where they did.
