To TT or not to TT

I'm asking this as someone who hasn't TT'd at all yet and all I have left to do it landscaping and events basically. Is TTing still seen as bad even if I have nothing left to do but landscape? I want to move things faster and breed hybrids faster etc.

If you guys think I should TT and its okay to even though I've played day by day so far whats the safest way to do it?​

Do what you want. How you enjoy a game is no one's business but your own.

If you want to time-travel do it. If you want to only use it in certain situations, only do it then. If you don't want to time travel, then don't do it.

Play the game you want to play it. I have a no time travel rule but that doesnt effect the way you or anyone else plays the game.

My personal advice would be to not do it simply because you are worried about if you should or shouldn't. If you choose to do it then later decide you wanted to have a no-TT game, you're going to regret your island for being part TT'd and if will affect your mood and will to play, maybe even pushing you to reset and get even further behind.

If you can tell yourself with 100% certainty that you would not later regret TTing, then do what you want.

Having to change the settings of your console to get an advantage in your game is definitely cheating, but you're not affecting other people with it so it's your choice completely. Personally I see no reason to do it in your case, what else is there to do? Playing and enjoying the game.

It sounds like you're basing your choice on how you will be perceived. Don't do that. If you don't want to wait for a bridge TT but if you want a non TT town because of your own personal sense of accomplishment then don't.

it says "to tt or not to tt", not "to cheat or not to cheat"; not everyone sees tting as cheating.

also op, if you feel like you'll be more satisfied with tting so you can finish landscaping, then go ahead! but if you're fine with the day-by-day pace, that's totally fine too! if you do decide to tt to finish landscaping, i recommend going day by day so you can focus on specific hybrids. but there's no real danger in tting, even by months, since villagers won't move away without telling you.

I voted no, but only because I don't TT. It's your game, and if you want to hurry up your landscaping, that's your decision. I know it can be a pain to wait for something to finish building or grow. Personally, I like that slower aspect of the game, but no one can tell you how to do your town.

This is exactly why I time travel now. I'm at a point where all I really want to do with my time in game is landscape. Playing slow is fine until this is all you're left doing, imo. After that, waiting a day to move buildings around one by one is just hassle, but that's really all I do it for. Jump forward a day, jump back a day.

I still play day to day otherwise. I really only do it to skip waiting for building moves (and only after I've sold my turnips for that week, otherwise the jumping back a day part rots them).

i voted no before i read the top post lol. i'm even tempted myself to TT for landscaping only, although i'm not really in a rush either so i probably won't...

The only reasons I TT now are to get villagers to move out or if I have to have something delivered ASAP, everything else i do day-by-day. Only do what you feel you need to and don't feel pressured to TT if you don't think you'll enjoy it/be comfortable with it down the line.

From your post, it sounds like you're tempted to TT to speed things up but is worried about how you'll be perceived + messing up the island. First, you should do some research on how to TT safely and then decide.

My two cents is that Animal Crossing is a personal game. If you (in general, not you specifically) constantly worry about how others perceive the way you play or compare your island to other people's islands, you're just ruining the game's experience for yourself.

Also, even though the game is designed to play at a slower pace with real time. I can guarantee you that if the developers are really against time traveling as part of the gameplay, there are many things they can do to basically render TT-ing useless. The fact that they left this 'option' for players to utilize should tell you how developers view TTing.

I changed my vote from don't to do it. I don't really want to time travel in my island, but if you want to you should! I could see why you'd want to time travel though, to skip all the waiting time. If I time traveled it would be to quickly move my villagers houses and place them where I want them.

If it worries you too much and you're afraid you might regret it, I would advise not to do it, but you should know that it's fine, especially with landscaping! When you're in the middle of doing it and you have an idea in mind, it's frustrating to wait a whole day!
Maybe everyone cares about this a whole lot now because the game is still so young, and they get upset that people unlock stuff faster or have more advanced islands. When we were all on New Leaf we talked casually about time traveling to get a villager in boxes, to grow hybrids and stuff. In six months no one will be able to tell if you've ever time traveled, and no one will care. No one should care from the beginning in my humble opinion.

I think you should ask yourself whether you'd regret it later if you did TT. Something I have heard from people who TT is that they regret not taking it slow.

If you're sure you'd want to play at a faster pace, then I say TT.
