Are you concerned for if future updates come and things like new shops arrive? I am honestly only done like maybe 60% of my island but I have used my space quite well and have left open one of my higher areas for something like this.

I don’t even know how many months or how long it would take or if they even will give us new shops, but isn’t that concerning for people who have their island and every inch 100% covered? I guess you just have to redesign but I am wondering everyone’s thoughts!

I'm not worried about it. I have a couple areas that I call my DLC area rn; they've got stuff placed there for now but they'll be easily moved come DLC shop time.

Yes, good question. I'm purposely leaving a spot open for the Roost, if it's coming anyway. It's aill be close to the shopping area and the cafe area, so it will feel like a townhall kinda thingy

I'm looking forward to it! Designing the island has been my favourite part, and now I'm 'done' I don't feel as excited about the game. When a new update arrives I'll be more than happy to start redesigning entire areas all over again

This is a great way to think about it, and I feel about the same tbh. It's fun to design

I'm about 80% done my island and I already feel like I need to do a complete redesign for this reason

I don't have a completed island but I think it's almost guaranteed that the Roost is gonna come out at some point or another. didn't people find dialogue the devs accidentally left in that mentioned Brewster, coffee and the cafe? I'm honestly not sure what to do about it because I don't wanna leave a hyuge gap in my island for something that hasn't been officially announced yet lol

that being said, I'd be happy to spend however long it takes redoing my island if they ever come out. I think I'm just gonna not worry about it. I'm actually really excited for them to introduce things that will make our islands feel more full!

I’m about 50% done with my island...but I barely have enough space right now for the current shops, and we don’t even have hat many. (Honestly I don’t even know how it got this bad lol). A couple of days ago, I had too much space and now I have too little. But I’m not too worried about it. If they open any shops I’m sure I’ll tear something down. I’m hoping new shops will be added even though I’ll have to tear down my island. Or place them on the beach.

I'm only really worried if they open up more than 2 new shops.. I have a space basically set out for the roost already, & a space that is basically not finished at all yet, so it's fine if I stick a shop there, but if a new shop comes in after that, I'll kind of be scrambling for space. I have a "shopping district" even though people have been advising against that, but it makes everything extremely straightforward for me & visitors to my island, so I really doubt that I'm going to space the shops out.

i'm pretty much done, and have almost every inch of my map covered - but i have "temporary" decorated areas that can easily be taken down if they need to be. If anything the prospect of future content and buildings just makes me even more excited about potential redesigns

Yeah me too! I am super excited. This is also a big reason as to why I am taking it “slow” in terms of decoration and planning. I really am hoping though if a new building comes it happens like before July!

If I complete my island before any potential buildings are added then I'll probably mope for an hour, wait for inspiration to hit, and then get excited about demolishing something to make space.
